"I do," she said, "but I don't think it's nefarious.. Maybe he's remembering something he had forgotten in his past."
She frowned a little, looking over at him. "You should try to put a little more trust in him, Puck.."
He laughed a little, folding his arms again. “I will never trust him. You’re just going to have to understand that.”
He was quiet for a moment as he considered the question. "I did," he replied after a moment, sighing a little. "I don't know if I do still. I dislike him, but I think that's just... inevitable, I guess."
He nudged her a little. "I know what you meant," he replied, his voice a little gentler. He looked out at the ruin, and a frown crossed his face. "But it'll always be him over me."
He frowned and was quiet for a moment, looking down at the dark water. "I don't know if it's enough for me," he said quietly.
He sighed, shaking his head slowly as he leaned down to pick up a rock, intending to skip it across the surface of the water. "No, Cal."
He looked over at her, his brow furrowing. "It's not you," he said after a moment. "I just..." He sighed, dropping the rock. "I thought things would be different, and now that it's not, I... I don't really know what to do with myself."
"You be the best person you can be," she told him, her head tilting as she watched him with a gentle expression. "And you do it for yourself. You don't to prove your worth to anyone," she said stubbornly. "I think you're pretty great."
He shook his head, frowning deeply. "I'm confident enough in who I am as a person, Calliope. I just don't know what to do about you."
