A young elf who looked as if she might've been some sort of maid gave her a nervous smile. "Hello, Ma'am. I'm to escort you to the meeting room."
When she arrived in the room, she would see a meeting of various elders, some of which she would recognize. They all stopped talking as she entered, and she would see at the end of the table the queen of the elves, her features recognizable from the portraits she had seen. Her gaze was stern, but not unkind, and she straightened up, tilting her head thoughtfully. Next to her was Puck, who had been talking to her quietly. "Hello, Calliope," the Queen said, her voice clear and smooth. "How did you sleep?"
"It was alright," she said quietly. Although, her sleep had actually been fleeting, and she had tossed and turned all night. She glanced at Puck with a small frown, feeling anxious.
Puck was avoiding her gaze, looking at the Queen, who was looking at Calliope. "Excellent. We have begun to arrange preparations for an assault on the human kingdom and we could use your insight."
"An assault," she confirmed. "We now have conclusive proof that the human kingdom has violated the Treaty, and as a result, we must strike."
She looked a little panicked. "But.. All they want is equal flow of magyck.. They only have 25% of what we have. Their civilians are suffering and dying on the streets.."
She opened her mouth to reply but Puck spoke quietly to the Queen. "As I said, your majesty, she has been brainwashed. I don't believe this will be helpful."
Her shoulders tensed. "With all due respect.. I haven't been brain washed. I know what I'm talking about."
“You’ve been taken by one of them, Calliope, and fed lies because they knew you’d believe them,” he snapped sharply. He turned to the Queen again. “For context, she also went willingly with her captor because he told her that he’d tell her more about what was happening with the Ortus.”
"You're supposed to be my friend, Puck," she said helplessly. "I thought you would help me but now you're telling them all that I've been brainwashed when it clearly isn't true."
“I am your friend,” he replied sharply, turning to her. “I’ve been your friend throughout all of this, Calliope. The one who was looking for you? The one who was gathering a search party? That wasn’t your human friends, that was me.”
