Ten months. Ten long months. That's how long Everypony.com has been standing. This site went from an idea.. A thought.. A little JOKE - To. .. Well... Look around you. Consider that for a short time I was the only member on this site, EPR didn't exist and the forums themselves looked a little bit like a ripoff of 'hello kitty' meets Mario. Consider then NOW, we have close to 1500 registrations, near 500 ACTIVE users, a radio stream with absolutely HUNDREDS of videos. A small (but still respectable) reputation and in my own, humble opinion one of the kindest, most loving, caring and generous community's the internet has ever seen. In the short time we've existed I've seen Everypony cause 'star-crossed lovers' to meet, EPR bronies to actively comfort and prevent a (possible?) suicide. Bronies to offer a complete stranger a place to stay, for no other reason than having a warm heart and open mind. I've seen people donate their time, money and efforts to each other, to the site. I've never yet seen an introduction thread without a single warm welcome. I could go on. It's astounding. Breath taking. An IDEA. A message. One sentence. Was all it took to allow all of the above... In the long run, if that idea hadn't come to pass. Then neither would any of the above! Scary no? I cannot express how proud I am, to have played such a vital part in this. To see something I helped create blossom into something so wonderful... Words cannot truly allow you to envision how I feel right now. I want to say so much more. I could. I could write for hours, days! But alas, as much as it greaves me. I understand that all good things - generally - come to an end. I'm leaving the Everypony Staff, most likely for good. I'm proud to have played my part but I think in this, for too many reasons to recite I believe my part in this tale has to a lovely if untimely end. I wish you all the very best and thank you all from the very depths of my heart and soul. I know this is very abrupt and not particuarly climatic but I'm at a loss at to what to say. Thank. You. Well I can honestly say that we all are extremely appreciative of what you have done for this community, and help establish a firm and welcoming haven from the scariest corners of the internet. My only recent joining of the site prevents me from having seen precise examples of what you have done for the community over the time you have been Technical Administrator, but I know without a doubt, that you have done a lot for us. I'm also sure that your decision was in the best interests of yourself, and I hope you find what you desire in future endeavours.
As staff I guess I saw this coming before hand, but that doesn't take anything out of what I want to say. When I first joined way back on the 19th of June with my good friend Steven, Everypony was a quiet forum. In fact, only you and him even replied to my introduction. However, even then I had such a tremendous respect for you, a respect that has only increased as time went by.One thing I will always look up to you for, staff or not, is your work ethic. I honestly hope to model your character in terms of hard work and diligence, it's it's such an admirable trait. You've slaved away at this community through thick and thin, and that's why we all have so much to thank you for. It won't be the same without you. It doesn't matter if you're leaving the community or not, the impact you had on those 500 active users is a very heavy one indeed. You've done such a great service, and I among hundreds are so grateful for what you've done. Not a single person can hold their respect against you, you've simply done far too much. Sometimes, I'm forced to remind people complaining about the site that we offer a service for free and without obligation. Whenever I say that, I am always reminded of you, and how you poured your heart into this completely altruistically. You consistenly and selflessly toilied away, undergoing huge amounts of stress to forge this place, and when you do that you can't help but be revered as a human being. We had a laugh in London. It was great to meet you because you are also an amazing guy. It was like a day out with mates (essentially it was), but throughout that meetup I still had that underlying respect for someone with as much perseverance as you. NOOOOOOO Grey, I thank you and everyone that made this great place come together. I have met some of the coolest people on this site. People on this site have inspired me to take up drawing, music and writing. All of this came from a little idea that snow balled into something amazing. you were always like the uncle that lived far away and would give gifts when he visited. You brought the gift of happiness. I know we may have never talked, but I hold you as one of the most respected people I know. Ever since you told me this was going to happen, I've been dreading the time it would become official. You're a great friend and a great administrator. We were lucky to have you as someone to lead us and help the website grow and stay in shape. I can only hope that we continue to grow and improve so we can do this site justice, through good times and bad, and keep this community the very best we've seen. When you made me an admin, I was speechless. I never thought I'd be worthy of working on the same level as you and Derpy. In the months I've been on here, I've learned a lot, and I can say with confidence that I wouldn't be half as good without you to help. This has been quite inevitable for a while now, and now that it's finally come I should say a few words. Heh, listen to me, I sound like I'm at a funeral. If you think about it, it kind of is in a sense really. No, I'm not trying to make this sound bad, or depressing, but quite the opposite, I'm being optimistic about this. Like at a funeral, it's all part of a cycle. All this means really is that this marks a new time for our humble little site here. Grey, you've been a wonderful part of this site. When I first came here I'll admit I had no idea who anybody was, you included, and I just stuck around for whatever rEason and eventually became a member of the staff. There I finally got a chance to get to know you all better. Over that time, Grey has to be the person on this site who I have the absolute most respect for. It's only a shame we couldn't have gotten into more shenanigans together with your hair. I hope you find what you're looking for, and don't be too shy to avoid visiting, we'll still value your opinion on stuff.
Wow...I'm rather speechless...even though I knew it was coming, I'm sad it has to happen this soon. I can only agree to everything said in here. We will miss you dearly Grey. You have given us this wonderful place to share and to build. Even with the slight shadow of the recent events, it was a blast working with you and I'm really really happy that I found an awesome friend in you. Honestly, I'm also amazed at the work you put into this site in the past. I joined this website because of Equestria daily, and my life would probably have been far different today if it hadn't been for your work. I was extremely surprised and speechless when you asked me if i wanted to be part of the staff- And honestly, those were probably some of the best months I experienced in this year. I've probably said this hundreds of times in the past, but I'll say it again- It was a blast working with you and everypony else on the staff, and it was definitely great making friends with you. Thank you Grey, for creating this amazing wonderful community. I've never been into forums all that much as most of them result in fighting and trolls. Not this one. This is truly a special place. I never thought a community forum such as this could ever exist. It is sad to see that you are leaving the staff, and even though I haven't been a member here long enough to appreciate what you have done, I respect you. Thank you for everything you have done for this community, we all appreciate it.
I'm so sorry to have to see your departure, Grey. You've been a major help to us all throughout the time the site first came to being, even though I joined in July. I heard from the others who were here before me of what all you've done to not only improve the site, but make it into a thriving fan-base for people like us to drop by and talk with others. I deeply appreciate all that you've done thus far to make this site simply wonderful, Grey. I, along with everypony else, will deeply miss you... I'd hate to see you have to leave the staff after only 10 short months, especially since I was just amended to the staff themselves merely 2 weeks ago. I wish I could've gotten to know you better within that period of time...
