"Er, if you were to go into town I suggest you disguise yourself. The town would welcome the Princess even if she was transformed into Nightmare Moon again. They prefer a Windigo over a Unicorn but you.... Sorry." While he hadn't heard of a Windigo before today, there was that hydra at the amusment park, or the vampire fruit bats at the orchard. It led him to believe the townsfolk would have no trouble with Frozen Heart, if he gave them no trouble. However, dispite their welcoming attitude to creatures that other ponies might shun, there was evidece that Discord would be as unwelcome as Celestia. "There's a statue of you next to Princess Tia and the bearded one. It's all broken up and sometimes they thow stuff at it." "All three statues are quite defaced. I know why the other two are so disliked, but not what you suposedly did." sent from my PS Vita.
"Oh, ponies have a habit of misconstruing my acts as being in some way malicious, and at one point my reign stretched over all of Equestria; many communities hold misguided ill-feeling towards me. Not sure why they'd make a statue though..." Discord was a little disheartened though not altogether surprised by this news. Normally he wouldn't care about the opinions of regular townsfolk; they posed no real threat to him, but he supposed that if he was going to be here for a while, some interaction might be necessary, and a disguise may be in order. With a flash, he transformed into a copy of Queen Chrysalis, whilst retaining his colour palette. "How's this?" he asked.
Luna looked to the Discord Chrysalis. "Have the ponies in the town seen the real Chrysalis?" she asked Lio.
"Show them my true form.." Frozen mulled this over, "I suppose I could try. I just hope it doesn't cause a panic!" Frozen chuckled, "though, I suppose if discord is posing as Chrysalis, my true form wouldn't be all that unsettling by comparison!"
Rosy was saddened by the news about unicorns being disliked. However, that certainly explained the nasty looks she got on her way over. At least she wouldn't probably be found here; no one would expect her to go to a place where unicorns are shunned. "Is there a library in town?" asked Rosy curiously.
"No they haven't, but changlings pass through town from time to time with little trouble. I think there's a colony somewhere around here disloyal to Chrysalis. Maybe one or two halfbreeds in the town." He wasn't positive that the Pony/Changling hybrids were residents, but he had come a cross at least two. "Ah you were upstairs when we mentioned the ghost Libraian. Yes the town has quite the grand library. Possibly one of the largest in Equestria. The Luna statue sits in front of it under a roof to protect it from the elements. Conversely the statues of the three stand near the ocean, and are left to the mercy of the elements. One might not recognize who the statues are meant to be if not for the fact that their name plates are replaced and restored from time to time. I know that Discord's was the first, followed Starswirl, and then Celestia."
Luna chuckled a little. "Sister is quite proud of her statue in Canterlot." Luna said. "I want to see her face when she sees the one in here if it is as you say it is. But I doubt she would come here someday." She then looked to everypony else. "I think it might be a good idea to go tomorrow to the town and see it since I'll have to rise the moon in a few hours." She finally said.
"Typical," Muttered Discord, "I come all this way to get away from Celestia, and it turns out the two of us have been standing here together the whole time!" Discord had no real interest in the library; he'd never found a book that could teach him anything. Some of the pages did make good salads though... "Tomorrow? Let me check my diary," he pulled out a pink book with 'property of Spike' scrawled on the front cover, and started leafing through it: "Let me see, uh, yes; I should be able to do that."
(Okay, I was going to have the towns people despise Discord for something silly like an overdue library book, but you just gave me a better silly reason.) "The bearded guy is between you and Princess Luna's sister."
"Ah, the library," Frozen mused, "part of what attracted me here actually. I hoped there existed some information i might have overlooked in my journeys. Sadly, I have begun to think that perhaps no answers exist, and that I must make my own." "At any rate, I was hoping to make a few bits to pay rent." Frozen looked at Luna, "You know, I have always wondered..what is your sister like in person? What's the real Princess Celestia like?" He had always felt a secret fascination for the Princess. She had a certain grace about her that he found appealing.
"Um, not that far." "The Statues are slightly larger than life size and the bases are six feet apart."
Discord nodded, and summoned an abacus; "So, six plus six is... twelve feet? Why, that's touching distance! I'd say that classified as together."
"Hmm, I assumed you meant centre to centre. Hang on a second..." Discord disappears in a flash, then after a few minutes, returns in the same way. "There, now they are twelve feet apart," He said, sitting back on his haunches and brushing off his hole-riddled hooves.
Luna sighed and facehoofed, what did he just did?! Luna then turned to Frozen. "The real Celestia?" She was a bit confused about her his question. "Well, the one she shows in public is mostly the one she is, but when it comes to more closely related ponies she changes a little." Luna said.
"Hm..somehow I am not surprised by that," Frozen said, "From my understanding the relationship between you two seems to have improved upon your return. It's good to see you back, you and your sister seem to manage your people well." Frozen gave a gentle laugh, "If my father wasn't so proud, he could learn a thing or two from you, I wager. Well, that is, if he's still king now. It's been.. five hundred years since I left?"
"Yes, my sister and I get along better after my return." Luna said. "Altough after I got married, I spend less time with her." She said nuzzling Darky. He nuzzled her back. "Well, but about your father I don't know, Tia is the one that should know since she is the one that takws care of that stuff." Luna said afterwards
"Love can be a many splendored thing...or so I am told," he said, "You two seem to love each other very much." "As to the subject of my father, i'd love to see the old stallion change, but that is one thing my people dislike intently. I'm not sure why I was born different, admittedly."
