War has turned Equestria into a wastland. Six factions, each with their own fleet of space ships, head to the 'Hope' solar system, hoping to continue ponykind. _________________________________ "Day 72..." Firebreeze wrote into his journal, "We've finally reached Hope. The civilians of the fleet appear to be overjoyed, as am I and the soldiers. We will hopefully find a hospitable pla net soon enough." He then closed the journal and looked out the window of his quarters and into the deep, dark realm they called space.
The Ragnarok was the first ship in the fleet to slip out of the warp, the others soon followed a black shoal of ships set upon the blackness of space, impossible to see at range with the normal eye even sensors had a hard time finding them. Soon enough the fleet was heading to the fifth planet, a mountanous world with broad areas of forests, it would be this planet then that would serve as their new home. Rashall watched from the bridge of the Ragnarok as it sped on towards the planet that they would all call home. The fleet had since adopted a small battle line the faster destroyers and some picket lines of bombers and fighters launched from the crusier class vessles made a uniformed outer edge ready for anything. The larger ships, the mainline crusiers and the four other battle ships, made up the inner part of this defence line the transports were inside of this line and at it's heart was the Ragnarok and her small cluster of four strike crusiers.
Midnight Sun sat at the bridge of his ship, the Heavy Man O' War named the Light-Bringer. Around the ship were the War Cruisers and another Man O' War and outside those on the fringe where the frigates. The faction that Midnight lead was the Brotherhood, which was heavily militarized. As the fleet approached, it a couple other fleets, setting off alarms in the ship, "Sir! Two fleets detected! Plan of action?" one pilot asked. "If they interfere, blast them out of existence, if not, continue on current course.
Steel heart was heading up the elevator when the doors opened and the crew stood up to salute "you can stop saluting now" He then walked up to the captains chair and turned towards the pilot and communicator "you see that planet I want you to land in forest sector 21a, then activate cloaking shields and you tell the others to land and activate cloaking shields in sector 21b, 21c, 21d and 21e". He turned round only to be alerted by the radar operator. "the brotherhood and two others, seems like we are not the only ones with the samw ideas. Weapon crew ltrack them with the beam cannons and pulse bomb cannons and if they make a false move fire".
"Sir!" A soldier called, running into Fire's quarters, "We've detected multiple fleets in the area, all of them seem to be heading to the same planet!" "Try and see if we can possibly communicate with any of them," The captain replied, "It's best that we get acquainted now."
"Captain Sun! A fleet is attempting contact." One of the naviators called over his shoulder. "Well, wait are you waiting for! Send it through!" Midnight responded. "Yes sir, of course." A screen lowered in front of Midnight and it fuzzled to life. "Hello, I am Midnight Sun, Commander of the Brotherhood."
"Lord weapons lock confirmed coming from a different fleet, your orders?" Asks one of the sensorium crew, the others wait in silence for Rashall's answer. "Condition red throughout the fleet, give them twenty minutes if their weapons stay on us return the favor. Helms bring us about to the third planet, lets settle the mild desert one instead," says Rashall smiling. "Coming about, fleet is responding and tightining up shield overlaps confirmed," says the helms pony. "Flank speed lets get some distance and lets test their mettle," says Rashall the rest of the crew simply smile. "Flank speed aye, buzzing the hive," says the helms pony a slight smile playing on his face. "Mainscreen for the call," says Rashall feeling the ship lurch into movement.
Suddenly the screen was split as a new communication came in. "Hello?" Midnight asked to the newcomer.
"Hello to you as well, I see that I'm the only one breaking contact here," says Rashall looking offscreen.
"Hello, I am Captain Firebreeze of the Flames of Trail," He said in response, "I figured it would be necessary to make contact with any other fleets and make, if nothing else, a mutual understand of each other's wants."
"Well, the Brotherhood , sure we may have a huge fleet but under me, we have rarely been more than a protective force with bases scattered around the place, we have never been a solid nation. And you?" Midnight said.
"Need to know information, that neither of you need to know at the moment though I might suggest that the other fool out there lower his weapons, unless he has the intentions of killing innocents," says Rashall.
"The Flames of Trial were formed during the war as a group of elites. Only near the end were me and my men granted our fleet. We only hope to give the civilians on board a new home, but we have more than enough firepower to protect ourselves." Fire said in reply.
"Well, that idiot doesn't realize that the moment he opens fire on] us, he is getting a MA round right in the flag ship." Midnight mused, "Anyways, shall we discuss our plan for the planets and this system?"
"I'm already headed towards the more desert like climate planet just past the one all of you are headed towards. I'm not sure how well the others in my fleet would like to share," says Rashall.
"I am thinking about having my fleet scatter across the system, taking small places as bases etc, just continuing our buisness as usual." Midnight said.
"sir mesage on holocam, seems to be coming from all ships" "well activate it, we need to clear things up if we want peace" A plinth in the centre of the room flickerd on creating 3d holograms of the other ponies. "hello, let me introduce myself my name is captain steel heart of the cyber shields. I try to solve things through a peaceful way, hence my nickname the diplomat. Oh before you fire the weapon lock is just a pecedure just incase you start firing at us were prepared".
"The desert world will be under your jurisdiction, then," Fire said to Rashall, "I'm sure my boys would prefer avoiding a desert anyway. As for the forest world, I suggest the new inhabitants work together in order to establish life, we'll figure out the rest later."
"Ah, look who decided to come to the party. Anyways, this is where I must cut off communications, there is a lot of places that need a presence if my fleet is to fulfill its purpose, protecting the system." Midnight said before ordering the comms shut. From there he started directing small parts his fleet across the system and the other fleets watched as the Brotherhood fleet broke up and headed all over the system, often towards moons and other small places.
Fire turned to the other captains, "I'm not too sure how much I trust any of you right now, but I'll trust you nonetheless. Don't test my trust, that is all I request. I'll be off, then, lads." He then shut off communications and went off to plan for the landing.
