He nodded, taking his swim suit the going to find a place to change. After looking they found one with empty stalls just for that reason.
He was waiting patiently in the sun, his arms crossed. She would see now that he still had a strong body, his muscles toned under his skin. They may not have been as pronounced as before he was captured, but they were certainly still noticeable. His head cocked slightly as he approached her. "Sure. Let me see."
She flushed a little before opening the curtain. She was small; the goblin hadn’t been wrong about that. With the swimsuit on, he would be able to see just how petite her frame was. However, she was very pleasantly proportional. The curve of her waist was smooth and he would see the slight muscle definition from working on the farm. She was flushing in embarrassment, pink dusting across her nose. She was avoiding his gaze, her collarbones pronounced and seamless. She turned her back to him slightly, and he would see that the back was made up of three laces. The top and bottom ones were secured, but the middle was just out of reach for her. He would also see the line of freckles on her shoulder, often obscured by her collar. Now, he would see that they ended in a curl around her shoulder blade.
He pursed his lips as he took the lace and carefully tied it. His hand brushed her back lightly as he did so, but he pulled away once he was done. There was a light flush across the bridge of his nose as well, but it would be hard to see. "There. All good?" When she turned to look at him she would find him standing not even an arms length away. His eyes were narrow in the light, the violent irises striking. There was a long scar across his chest going from the right side of his torso up and across the center of his chest, ending on his left collarbone. She would be able to tell it was old, but despite its age it was quite noticeable, jagged and holding a lighter tone from the rest of his skin.
She looked up at him, her eyes tracing over the scar gently as she watched. She lifted a hand uncertainly, as if to touch it before she looked back up at him, dropping her hand. “You’re really handsome, Z,” she said quietly, giving him a small smile.
His blush deepened under her gaze but he turned away and waved it off slightly. She would be able to tell he was embarrased, if not a little self conscious about. "It's.. Thanks, June. Let's go back to the beach."
She took his hand, trying to lighten the mood. “I’m sorry you’re stuck with me for right now,” she teased. “Maybe you’ll meet a nice demon girl on the beach.”
He raised an eyebrow at her, tilting his head slightly. "Yeah.. No thanks. Let's just do our own thing."
She laughed lightheartedly, squeezing his hand. “The, uh, salesgoblin told me that a lot of girls go down at the beach with swimsuits on.” She nudged him with her head affectionately. “Maybe you’ll meet someone. It doesn’t have to be a demon. It could be a faerie, or a human, or a... I don’t know.”
"A lot of people in general go to the beach with swimsuits on," he said, "to swim and stuff. Besides, why are you interested in that? I'm not pointing out all the attractive guys." He raised an eyebrow at her. "Unless you want me to."
She flushed, shaking her head a little before a playful smirk crossed her mouth. “No. I’ve already got an attractive guy to be my friend,” she said with a shrug. “I just think that you might be happier if you found something more with someone who was actually, you know. Your type.”
She laughed a little, squeezing his hand. “Why not? You gotta start thinking about your future.” She paused, looking out at the water before dropping his hand, hurrying over to the edge.
He frowned, watching her go. The water was beautiful in the sunlight, holding a clear bright blue color the deeper it went. The surface sparkled and it wasn't too cold to swim in, keeping a pleasant temperature.
