There would be a moment's pause before he would hear a splash and she leaped onto his back, hugging her arms around his neck and her legs wrapping around his waist.
He squinted, the words awakening his competitive nature as he stood up straight before falling backwards into the water.
He would hear her ecstatic little gasp of laughter before they fell into the water. Her legs undid around his waist and she let go of his neck, instead flipping over and wrapping her arms around his waist, looking up at him with a huge smile.
She gasped a little as the cold water hit, instead moving up from his waist to his neck, wrapping her arms around him.
She was panting a little from all the dunking, her arms still around his neck. As he stood up fully, though, her arms dropped and she nodded, looking up at him. "Yeah. Let's do that."
He went to go get it, the dry sand hot under their feet. He grabbed it and returned to the shore, allowing the water to lap at their feet. "How does it work?'
She stood at the edge of the water, her hands on her hips. "Just toss it," she replied, tilting her head.
She went over, picking it up and dusting the sand off. "No. Like this." She tossed it to him properly, letting it glide across the sand to him.
He caught it and squinted at it before doing the same thing back. It wobbled a little, but came close to landing in front of her.
He raised his eyebrows at her, starting to walk backwards. "Okay. Are you gonna throw it to me when you do?"
"Yeah," she said eagerly. "Along the shoreline." She paused before her eyes widened. "Or, I could throw it and we could race to it."
