He nodded slowly, pulling their food off the fire and offering hers. "It was. We'll figure out how to head to Ozepan tomorrow."
He took his own food. The sky was a pinkish red as the sun set, their fire beginning to cast shadows. He ate quietly, his legs folded.
She wasn’t looking up at him, watching the sun set over the horizon, her brows furrowed thoughtfully. “It’s beautiful out here,” she mused quietly.
She set her can down next to her, pulling her knees to her chest as she leaned against him. She didn’t say anything, just watching the sun go down.
She looked over at him, her ears flattened in gentle contented ness. “What else do people do around here at night?”
“That was at the beginning of the journey,” she said with a laugh. “I didn’t think you would remember.”
The sun sank over the horizon, and the nearby shops and restaurants lit up. They were away from the noise, fortunately they were far enough from all the buzz.
