Furries are in my eyes basically fans of antro animals. I just like the art they make. There are a bunch of different sub groups of just being a furry. Things like the fur suits and what not.

I guess it's kind of like the brony fandom, the main reason they get so much bad publicity is because the members the non-members see the most are the loud, obnoxious, douchebaggy ones, but in reality, 95% of the members are just normal people who like to enjoy themselves on the internet.

I don't really have much of an opinion on furries.

I have had some friends that were furries. That's fine; it's just a part of who they are.

I've worn cat ears before, and I think they're cute, but I don't really think that's the same thing as being a furry. I'm not a part of that fandom, but the fact that other people are is cool with me. I also think that being a Brony and being a furry are two different things that only seem similar at a first glance. Still, there is a lot of overlap between the two fandoms, which is cool because it exposes people to different things and makes our community more diverse.

    Little fact about me:
I used to be a furry, quite a big fan of it all. I did a ton of art and was on a few sites. I was completely a newbie to the internet at that time (I was 13), so when I got talking to some individuals, I encountered some rather "strange" users that told me about the dark corners of the net. From that point, I was sent off-putting images, saw the drama and hate that was amongst the communities I was a part of and it put me off the fandom. At that age I was completely ignorant towards the NSFW sides to the content.

I did have my little moment where I wanted nothing to do with furries, but that has died down after time passed and I think it was just an unlucky experience. A lot of the art is really high standard and some pieces are incredibly adorable. Now I have no problem with furries, really. They cool with me~

I have close friends who are furries.

I don't find it attractive at all, but hey to each their own.

I'm fine with Furries as for myself. I'm a furry but not huge on it much anymore. Bronyism latterly washed that phase outta me.

    *Edit* I might be a Ex-furry.

Mmmm yes. There's quite a few cosplayers here, one even dressed has a full on Hatsune Miku costume >.> The suits are what scares me, the ears and tails aren't that bad.
I've only worn ears once when she begged my friend and I to wear it. The ears are cute, but I will never wear it again :/

I stated on my introductory post that I'm a small-time furry. I already gave a small reason then, but I'll bring it up again here with a little more detail. I just happen to love a lot of cartoon animals in fictional media, I contribute fanart centered on my favorite Archie Sonic characters, I've created a couple of OCs of my very own, and that's really it for me. I have absolutely no interest in fursuiting and furry conventions, and I especially think most of the *squee!* drawings I've ever came across on Google Images are just flat-out repulsive to even look at.

So yeah, I think being a casual furry is quite alright. Though I have to admit that the brony community is a million times better than anything that the furry fandom has to offer.

Fun Fact: Despite the fox getup, I am not a furry. In fact, if I were a furry, I would more than likely be a raccoon. Just JoninFoxNinja sounds a lot better than JoninRacoonNinja.

As for the fandom. It's America. We're built on doing whatever the flip we want (although the government sucks at getting this). I tolerate furries just like I want bronies to be tolerated, or homosexuals, or african americans, or muslims. I don't think you can find any brony that dislikes furries, seeing as we are looked at in the same light at times.

Plus, didn't they donate a bunch of money towards autism research or something like that?
