He rolled his eyes, but smiled. "The sarcasm is strong in this one."
She looked up at him for a moment before kissing his jaw. "I knew you were the best thing."
"How could you talk about loyalty when he hurts you? If you love something you take care of it, not break it."
"I know," he said, grinning. "It should be exciting for you. I've lived with these people for more than half my life."
"It's okay," she said, sliding her arms around his ribcage. "I love you."
"Well," it said, "you could tell someone who can actually you?"
He sat up and pulled his legs over the side, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Yeah. Unfortunately."
She leaned over and kissed his cheek. "You didn't know. I replied harshly."
"Just do something. He obviously won't stop."
"Eh. I suppose." He rubbed an eye. "It'll be fine."
She frowned, sighing as she shook her head. "I'm sorry."
"I think you're only looking at it from one angle. Apologizing does nothing."
"You're family is fun. My family is like it wasn't supposed to be a family so nobody knows what to do."
"Because," she said, her tone hardening, "I just don't."
The reply back seemed almost immediate. "You need to do something about it."
He sighed, kissing the top of her head. "Fine."
"I'm not sure," she said, shaking her head. "I don't believe in that type of thing anymore."
It took a moment before the next reply, like there was hesitance. "Did he do something to you?"
"Yeah. I think that they would be concerned."
"Like, a god?" she asked, looking up.
