Everypony’s Role-Play The game made by Everypony for everypony! Hello there! You’ve just opened the manual for Everypony’s Role-Play! I hope you’ve got a fun group of friends picked out, and are ready for your adventures through Equestria! My name’s Page Turner, and I’ll be your main guide through the manual! First off, let me introduce you to the system! Everypony’s Role-Playing System runs with just a single dice-type. We’re going to get introduced to the twelve-sided dice! Hello little 12-sider… Anyway, all you need to play this game is two of these shiny dice. Most rolls will be labeled like this: 2d12 This means take two twelve-sided dice and roll them out for everypony to see the results! There will be a few smaller rolls that will be just 1d12, which is when you just take one of your twelve-sided dice, and just roll that. Oh, of course! I need to tell you about Lucky Rolls! Whenever you have a 2d12 roll, and both of your twelve-siders come up with the same number, you get to add extra to the end result! Unless you roll two ones, then it’d an unlucky roll. When you roll two ones, then whatever you were doing fails. It’s not fun, but it happens. When you roll two twos, threes, fours, fives, sixes, sevens, eights, nines, or tens, you add 1 more to the result! When you roll two elevens, then you get to add 11 more to the result! When you roll two twelves, well, you get to add a whole 12 more to your result! How lucky! Now that we had that talk, we’re going to move on to creating your own pony! Or dragon, griffon, goat… whatever! I’m just used to ponies! So, first I’m going to attach a character sheet to the end of this manual like… so… for your convenience! Now, go ahead and get one of those, and try not to be scared of it! I know… words and numbers make me sleepy too… but let me go over some of the big things now, and it’ll make a lot more sense to you! The first thing I want to talk about is Health. This is like… your most important stat EVER! Any time you get beaten up, or hurt by falling rocks, or something like that, you’ll lose health! That makes me cringe a bit just thinking about it, (I’m allergic to pain.) Once you reach zero health, you pass out from all the pain, and might suffer from real injuries! In fact, if you go too far below, you might even… die! *Squeak!* Now, the good news! Health regenerates with rest. For every 2 hours of rest, you’ll get back Health equal to your Resilience stat! If you’re really weak and don’t have any Resilience, then it counts as if you have at least one point. Be careful, though! Not being in the best health can be bad for your travel! Okay, time for the sleepy part: Health = Maximum Amount of Damage You Can Take Unconscious = At Zero Health Death = At Negative Five Times Resilience, Five Point Minimum Recovery = Equal to Resilience Per 2 Hours of Rest, One Point Minimum I hope that made sense to you ponies. I know it confused me at first, too, but we’ve got a lot more ground to cover! Okay, let’s talk about your second-most important stat ever. That’s right, I’m talking about your Stamina! You see, stamina is what keeps you going. A good night’s rest gets you all of your stamina back, so that you can use it on things like your skills! Skills can range from unicorn magic, to combat skills, to hauling things around, to… whatever else! Oh, the possibilities are endless with full stamina! Just be careful though, if you end up without any stamina left, you’re probably going to fall asleep without any say in the matter. *Giggle.* I know I can’t go without sleep forever. Once you hit zero, you’re going to start making 2d12 rolls, adding your Resilience. To stay awake, just roll a 12. Every time you have to do this after the first gets a cumulative 2 point penalty. So second time is -2, third is -4, fourth is -6, etcetera! Now, if you do end up passing out, the rule is that you won’t wake up naturally until your Stamina is fully restored. There are ways for other ponies to wake you up, but depending on your Stamina and Resilience, you might just pass right back out again! Stamina, like Health, comes back during rest. For every 4 hours of uninterrupted rest, you’ll get 50% of your Stamina back! This is what we call a rest-cycle. Sleep is important! Okay, so technical stuff: Stamina = Fatigue, Used Up with Skills Pass Out Checks = At Zero Stamina Recovery = 50% Every 4 Hours of Rest Okay, so we talked about Health and Stamina, and as you can see, they both have a lot to do with everypony’s success! Every pony, dragon, griffon, cow… whatever. I’m not trying to be racist, really! As you can see, Health and Stamina both rely on a stat called Resilience to help them out! Resilience is a big buff pony’s stat. Work ponies and big strong creatures like dragons or minotaurs have lots of resilience. Since resilience is a measure of your stature and muscles, it’ll help in a number of ways! · It’ll reduce the chances of you taking damage! · It’ll lower the effects of poison and sickness! · It’ll allow you to haul and lift things that smaller ponies like me couldn’t possibly do! · It’ll help you recover your Health and Stamina quicker… but you already know that! Why, the only bad thing about having a really high resilience is then not having enough points for other stats! Oh! Like Willpower… but I’ll get to that later. Resilience is the main stat used for defense when being attacked by physical means, like going hoof-to-hoof with somepony else! Or… some… thing… else! Now that the defensive side of things is out of the way, let’s talk about offense! This is the other end of the physical body of anypony. It’s called Ferocity! Ohh, scary name. Am I right or what? Ferocity is directly related to attacking enemies in hoof-to-hoof, or melee, as most ponies would probably call it. Whether using weapons, natural born talent, or in the case of dragons; claws and teeth… Ferocity is what dictates the damage and ability to fight. I’ll go over the specifics of how ferocity works in melee later. For now, I’ll just tell you it’s unique perk points: · It’ll increase your ability to hit an opponent in melee. · It’ll increase the damage you deal if you hit the opponent! · It’s intimidating to have a high ferocity, and so it affects skills that run on intimidation, or taunting! · It helps with some ranged attacks. So… yeah. Ferocity doesn’t exactly mean that you’re strong. It means you’re good at being a fighter, but you can be strong without being fierce. Let’s take friendly Big McIntosh for example! He’s big and strong, and resilient, (see what I did there?) but he doesn’t exactly give off a fierce presence. He’s probably never needed to actually fight, but you have to admire his big… strong… muscles. *Sigh…* Oh, right, on to the next stats! Since we covered what makes a pony big and tough and a strong fighter, let’s go over something that makes a pony quick on his or her hooves, Speed! Some pegasai just call it Zoom or Whoosh, but to get technical, it’s Speed, which is just a shorter way of calling it Quickness. Speed is the quickness of which a pony… or whatever… can move! Ponies on land can gallop faster, canter quicker, and work speedier with higher Speed. Pegasai with a high speed can pull more tricks and break more records than those with a lower speed, as this stat dictates their Wingpower! Unicorns with a high speed can even benefit by being able to pull more tricks off in a shorter amount of time! Why, Speed has loads of good uses! · Quicker movement speed! · More attacks, (for fighting types!) · More skills used! · Do more in a single turn! Why, if I had a high enough speed, I’d be able to get away from any trouble I’d run into. Uhm… not that I’d be getting into any trouble! Now that we got Speed out of the way, (it really flew past!) we can move on to Awareness. This dictates your general perception of the world around you! Having a high Awareness allows you to spot things easier, like hidden ball stashes. It’ll also allow you to take your turn sooner during combat, or other rounds. This stat also dictates your aim and allows you to hit things at a range easier, as long as you’ve had the proper training. In fact, some skills allow you to use Awareness for a LOT of things. Like hunting and tracking, spotting traps, trapping in the first place. You know, lots of things! It has many uses! · Earlier initiative! · Better ambush spotting! · It’ll allow you to hit easier! · Tracking down your truffle-finder. I wish I had a truffle-finder. Piglets are so cute, too. I knew I should’ve asked for one for my birthday. Mmm… truffles. You just have to be aware of your surroundings and not let the pig be picked up by some dragon to be turned into bacon! Need awareness for that! Next… we talk about more mind-oriented things. First we covered the body, and then we covered something in-between. Now for the mind! We shall start with something that everypony uses! CREATIVITY! Creativity governs your ability to learn, and retain skills! The first, and most important thing to remember about Creativity is that you can never have more skills than your Creativity! Well, everypony has some small level of ability with most every-day things, sure… but skills are the practiced trade skills and abilities usable in combat. Unicorns benefit from having a high Creativity by being able to use a larger variety of spells. Combat artists benefit by being able to change up combat to their advantage at just about any time by digging through a repertoire of skills! The only skills that don’t count towards the maximum amount are the five you start with. The two from your race, and the three from your class. Of course, we’ll get to those later. So, let’s see… Creativity is: · More skills! · The ability to learn more skills! · The ability to use a few skills. · Able to determine your socializing ability, by keeping conversation fresh and creative. That last bullet is so me. The last main stat I want to go over is Willpower! This is essential to unicorns who want to focus on magic, and those who wish to stand up for justice and what is right! Willpower directly affects the casting of almost every spell. The greater a unicorn’s willpower can dominate their target, the higher the chance of the spell taking affect. Willpower will also increase the amount of weight they can levitate, as well as the number of objects. In contrast, a high Willpower allows ponies to resist the effects of some magic. Like the scary power of Discord!!! Willpower also counters effects that intimidate, taunt, fear, or charm a character. · Cast stronger magic with Willpower! · Resist magic with Willpower! · Resist mental effects with Willpower! · Never give up if you have a high Willpower! This concludes the stats portion of the section! I’ll tell you just how to place points into these stats after we cover the Races portion… which is coming up here in a page-turn.
