So me and a group of friends went to Mcdonalds today. I wanted a pony but were too embarrassed to ask for one myself, so I asked my less shy brony friend to make the request. Granted that this arangement did not do much good as it were pretty obvious, the personnel smiled amused as they could clearly see my friend give me the pony, so much for keeping my identity a secret :DFH: .

So this is the story of how I got my first FIM toy, Applejack.

Good old Applejack, what has become of your hat?
Blown away I say. Yet you remain cute, your cutie mark may be two apples short of a bucket, yet you are still the same wonderful southern pony who will certaintly fill the applebucket.

Looks forward to Rainbow Dash next week :omg:

So what was your first merch everypony? Did you bravely ask for it in store or did somepony get it for you?

glad to hear that you got your first merch, even dough now staff of McDonald's know that you're brony.

I think my first march was Dumb Fabric Sweety Bell t-shirt, so since I was/am wearing it in public, there's no trouble.

I got my first merch on Christmas. It was a little awkward opening the gift up and seeing this! But my sister got it for me, so my parents didn't think much of it.

I never really saw the point of hiding that I'm a brony (I'm a girl though, so it's probably a little easier for me to be a brony in public than dudes. Stupid societal pressures). Anyway, I just went into a store and bought the Gala Pinkie Pie doll because it wasn't too expensive and was the biggest one. So that was my first merch. The rest came just as quickly xD My friend had gone to McDonald's and gotten two of their toys (she's a small eater, so she just gets happy meals). Ended up getting Twilight and Pinkie, and she gave them to me because Pinkie is my favorite and Twilight is my boyfriend's favorite. So now he has Twilight. But then for Christmas, my boyfriend got me a Pinkie Pie ornament and my sister gave me Pinkie Pie/Rarity/Fluttershy/Twilight dolls. So now my room is pretty ponied out =P

I got my first merch yesterday, it was the same looking AppleJack that you got, unlike you, I was the one doing the request, both for me and for my brony brother (who was shy).
When you said "request" I guess buying happy meals? Or did he ask specifically for ponies?

I just can't keep my fingers from curling her tail though. o_O

I want to get some of those shirts from welovefine, but I wouldn't wear them publicly. Well not to school anyway.

This is the first I've heard about McDonald pony toys. o_O *Skitters off the McDonald's*

I have not bought any merchandise for myself yet, but I did buy a Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy doll for my brother. Like mike406 said, it was more of a "gag gift" than anything. Though my parents are already aware of his bronydom, the rest of the family suspected nothing.

Are they back at McDonalds? If so then im gonna go as soon as 10 am rolls around. The first time I bought merch was the spring time Fluttershy. I was nervous and shy about it but now Im proud of my bronydom. I havent had a one on one encounter with another brony yet but I did get a big smile and a nod from a cashier.

Note that I live in Sweden, I can't guarantee they are back at Mcdonalds in the States or anywhere else.
My friend asked specificly for ponies actually, apparently it is possible to buy them seperate for 20 kr (roughly 3 dollars). I did not even know that.

Ponies being at McDonalds is not here in the US, unfortunately. The next toy here is Barbie and Hotwheels.

    I'm so jealous right now!

I REALLY want my own FS Rainbow Dash, but I can't find them in any stores here!

My first pony toys were actually given to me.

They were the Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Celestia McDoanlds happy meal toys. I got these back in May, I think.

Good to know, I bought happy meals, which to me taste *squee!* in the first place (especially the carrots). I'll buy em separately next time. :)

Lol happy meals. I just go for McDoubles (excluding mustard/onions)

Sadly those toys are not available here anymore in the US. So I can go on eBay!

    ...and my hoodie is beast!

The first, my mother ordered some molded ponies for my online.

The second, a small brushable Rainbow Dash, my mother bought while I was in the store with her.

The third, my large Fashion Pinkie Pie, I bought for myself, under the pretence that it was my baby cousin's birthday.

The fourth, a pair of small Twilight and Fluttershy brushable's, I bought for myself, ready to declare how much I loved MLP:FiM to any cashier who dared ask. I think the look on my face might have been enough.

So, my readiness to admit to being a Brony to total strangers was something that I built up over time. Somewhere after getting Rainbow Dash, I got an RD shirt, and wore it around. Some positive responses, some negative.
