So, I was browsing Youchew the other day, to see what it was like, and it seems like a highly respectable community. Now, I entered the site, and the first thing I see is 'Review: My little pony: Friendship is magic', written by Captpan6. Naturally, I had to read it. This is an entirely respectable review with no hating or over-the-top 'PONIES RULE!!!!' sort of stuff. It's unbiased, and that's what I like about it.

Read it, and give me your thoughts.

I agree mostly with this review. The primary problem with it is that it is entirely analytical. Now, I love analyzing something objectively; it is how you get to the truth of the matter. However, we all have to be aware that the things in the world don't work like that. Although everything he said was completely accurate, he's ignored (As he should have in this review) all the feelings that the show itself produce. This show made me truly happy for the first time in a very long time, and I know of other bronies for which this is true. I suppose at this point, we are getting out of the cartoon itself, so it shouldn't be involved with the review, but it's due to the emotional aspect that I recommend the show to anypony in the first place, not the analytical. Whenever I write about the show, I only ever spend one paragraph on what the show is itself, and then go into the feelings and the effort behind it, etc.

Basically, a brilliant objective review. But there's more than objectivity at play and I think that it cannot be ignored.

Nice review, He made good points. The is good, I like the songs unremixed.

I just don't like the fact he insulted Angels and Airwaves, Completely uncalled for.

I was listening to them as I was reading it.

I was hoping someone would find a balance in the whole thing!

I have to say I like seeing a review that focuses only on the show itself and it's nice to see that I can agree with almost all of the points made by the author.

But I suppose you're not at a live show right now. :p

I enjoyed the review, and the fact that the layout was reminiscent of a Cracked article. They do bring up a lot of good points about the show, many of which I've often wondered about. They did a great job at keeping the whole thing unbiased, which I do appreciate. If they aren't already, I think there is potential for them to go on as a professional reviewer someday.

I thought it was an excellent review, with only one tiny gripe: Humor. Everyone's humor is different, so saying the jokes are "hit and miss" is a bit misleading. Personally, there's no joke in MLP I cringe at, and think that even the kitchen sink one he mentioned was amusing. But, that's me. Some one else might even get upset with Pinkie "stealing" Pep LePew's leaping around - I've know people like that.
