Deo noticed the newcomer. Even with his vision the way it was, he could tell- "You know, it's a little creepy when you read people from afar," said his lookalike. "What are you talking about, Asmodeus? I simply noticed a new face, and glanced in his direction." This 'Asmodeus' looked at the new guy. "Forgive my friend. He's probably gazed into the face of everyone here. I swear he isn't trying to hit on you." He took a sip from his cider. He clearly wasn't as inclined to down an entire bottle of hard alcohol like his friend. On closer inspection, the stool he was sitting on appeared to strain ever so slightly under his weight. He was clearly significantly heavier than Deo. (Something I forgot to write down in my sheets because I'm dumb: Deo has a very light German accent that only comes through with his vowels, rather than his consonants. Also when he says Asmodeus, he pronounces it more like they do in Redwall, whereas Asmo himself pronounces it like Ghost does in the song Year Zero. Tapping his finger on the point on one of the helmet's horns, he gives a slight smirk as he glances over to the cat. "Stuck up doesn't suit me... I know a few teammates who tend to have such a personality. It's amazing we even get along sometimes."
"What a philanthrope," Asmo said sarcastically. "Asmodeus, play nice. This is Root. Root, I will not apologize on his behalf, but you have my permission to beat it out of him."
"Actually, Asmodeus," She spoke his name in a spiteful fashion. "I prefer misanthrope. People are quite annoying." She then turned back to the newcomer. "True, but is it the armor that wins your fights or the mind?" She questioned, her ragged voice hinting doubt.
"You're not gonna stick up for me Adolph?" "In all fairness, my dear friend, you were being, pardon my French, a smartass."
He gives a slight chuckle at the comment as his hand finally stopped touching the helmet. "Root, huh? Truthfully, a little of column A, little of column B. The armor helps... but if your mind isn't focused, no amount of armor is going to help you."
"Yet no amount of intelligence is going to help if you don't have the heart. Because that is what it all Comes down to, hero." She turned her head. "And powers are like cheats."
Ryadrom listened in amusement at the conversation his customers were having as he fetched a bottle of fine potato vodka and poured a glass for the newcomer. "So, may I ask what diety's tenets you prescribe to warrior?" he asked. Taking note of Root's return he smiled at her, "Ah, my favorite felinoid customer," he said pleasantly, "can I get you anything Root?"
