Dark smirked, "I'll be pretty long ranged, so I will probably need to set up my blind once we get to a good spot. But let's do this!" she was ready to get in the forest and finally acually kill something.
"The first campement is near the abondance lake, in wich we could easily get some fishes in it. Considering we're around 2pm, we could arrive on the lake's beach in 3 hours. Better not taking it slow tough, cause tomorrow is the big walk: the next campemen would be 26 km south. We should get up early." Saul brushed the ground with his tail and sat, waiting for the other ponies to come by. "Who's missing? Anyways, i think we could leave when Silver, Rex and Jhera arrive.", taught Saul. "The other ponies will join us later. No need to wait for them. Perhaps i could leave a map on some tree to show our route for the other ones..." Without a word, he took a wooden stick and drawn a map of everfree forest, and traced the route on it. Then, he wrote "Left 2:30 pm, The Second day of the Sixth month". Visibly satisfied, he turned to the ponies present. "Let's wait for the bell of the clock tower, then we leave. Any questions about anything, before we go?"
(Yeah, you leave just when it gets interesting... See ya around, guys~) "I say, we should leave already. It's 2:30 now. Ready or not, let's go. I have waited enough." Saul started to walk into the forest, at a slow rythym.
"Alright Comrade let us go look for the ruins i hope nothing terrible happens there seems to be only three of us"
Dark followed close behind Saul, she had never gone this route into the Everfree before, and she knew that getting lost in the forest was a death sentance. She quickly checked her different holsters to make sure her weapons were easily avilable, her knife tucked away in pounch that was made that the right flick of the hoof popped it out, her rifle hung to her side, underneath her wing so that it could easily swing into her hooves, and her crossbow was slung across her back. "Too bad the others had a change of heart." She said hoping to spark up a conversation.
"yeah i guess they didn't have it in them go out far into the forest even though we have the right equipment to protect" " might as well check my pistol's ammo seeing how its the only one i haven't check lets see.... one mag in the gun.... 1..2.. 3.. 4...... uh 11 mags with 20 rounds each so a total of 220 rounds well it seems set"
Dark nodded, "That's good, I knowthat I have at least 30 mags worth of ammo in my saddle, so times ten makes it 300 rounds, plus I have fifty crossbow bolts, so we have plenty of ammo." Dark looked around, "Strange, on my hunting trips into here, I usually see at least a bunny or a bird by now, wonder where all the wildlife is?"
"yeah where are all the animals usually i see some when ever i go looking for some musical insprations i think we may need to get weapons out just in case i don't like the looks of this Comrades"
Dark nodded, "Good idea." And she swung her rifle to wear it hung from her next, directly above her hooves. "Better safe than sorry."
"Maybe they're hiding because they fear us. Not a lot of ponies, first, go in the forest. Also, when we go in, usually, we're alone or with one, two people. They aren't used to see groups. But, like you said: better safe than sorry." Saul's horn started to glow. He prepared some offensive spell.
Dark noticed Saul begin to prepare a spell and bit her lip. She was at one time a unicorn, but a spell gone wrong turned her permentantly into a pegasus. She was thinking back to those days when she noticed a small brown fuzzy ball of the road, in a flash, her knife had sunk into the squirrels body. Dark picked the squirrel up in triumph, "Looks like we've have ourselves a first kill eh?"
''Impressive. you aim right and fast.'' Saul saw some grey spot at the end of the road, half-hidden behind a dark root from the tree next to it. ''Your turn, Cal: show me your skills on that bunny.''
"eh alright lets see if i can get it with the bow pull back and release and just in case going to get my gun out and shoot"
by a single gest, Saul tell the subtile order: Silenc. For Cal's concentration, more than how it could get us repeared by the bunny.
"alright here we go" he says as he holds his breath and aims "the arrow hit but it was non killing and its hanging on the tree" *BANG* "yup alright got it now" he says chuckling
"Nice shot." All the birds, afraid by the sound, fled. Saul's horn flashed and the birds got immobilized. Saul's scythe flew and precisely cut the feathers under the wings of three birds, before the spell lost it's effect. Saul trotted to the birds, and put them inside his right saddlebag, wich was still empty. The birds started complaning, but after a minute, they got silent. "Let's go to the campment, now. I want to be there as soon as we can."
