Noticed a lot of sites for file sharing (such as Mediafire) has recently been on a hot streak of removing any and all files that either are or seem to be(by the title of the file) under some sort of copyright. I myself have had files from my Mediafire account related to Skyrim mods (since Bethesda allow modding of the files for the PC version of Skyrim) removed because of Mediafire's hot streak of removing files. First question is, does anypony know any other decent file sharing sites that are free and do not remove files for in-activeness of a file? Secondly, is anypony else having issues like this with Mediafire(or any other file sharing sites for that matter). Lastly, what does everyone think about this sort of mass pruning file sharing sites are doing? /discuss [If this was posted in the wrong section, please move the the right section; This seemed like the most appropriate section to me.]
1: Use dropbox/Google Drive. If you need to link it you can always share the file. 2: Nope. I use dropbox =P 3: Because Megaupload got closed. Also there's a copyright witch hunt right now. There's one in every day and age, so no worries there.
@1: I've heard of dropbox and Google Drive but never actually given it a try; I look into it more later on today. @3: Yeah, been following a lot of stuff about file sharing since Megaupload got closed down (which it is rumored to be coming back because the FBI messed up on something during their investigation). Only reason this stuff even bothers me is because I do a lot with sharing files through some of my hobbies and projects. Just hoping the witch hunt dies down soon...really messes with ya when your trying to learn any sorta coding/programming and your files that you share with fellow coders/programmers, get deleted.
I haven't had issues with Mediafire, but I've hardly thrown anything commercial up there. Mostly just rare fanmusic is uploaded on mine.
Well I've seen people who have done like fanfics for Fullmetal Alchemist get their fanfics ripped down from Mediafire because they titled their fanfic the title of a FMA episode lol. Anywho, google drive seems to be the answer for me since they are leaving my files alone.
