You hope for nothing because you fear the disappointment. With no hope you're chained to fear. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I would rather fear disappointment than endure it. Which still validates my first statement of pointlessness. There is a difference between the uncertain future and the known present. Why bother with the uncertainties of the future? Take life as it comes, and deal with it. Hoping and fearing of what is (perhaps) yet to come is pointless. "Hope without truth is pointless"
*peeks in* Well, taking the future as it comes without hoping for any improvement is one way of living. But it won't get you anywhere specific. Hope can give you the strength you'll need to break out of the slumps and achieve something. Even if you know things might turn out bad. For the same matter, they might turn out okay.
It is determination and looking at your past which will make you go forward. hope, it doesn't get you the things you want, hope is just imagining things will turn out your way and is just as useless as imagining them turning out against you. Both of these attitudes base your overall happiness on future events. Constantly trying to live in the future is a good way to never live your life. I have an idea as what and where I want to be when I'm older, but hoping for it will get me nowhere, working towards it, grabbing opportunities as they come will get there.
Of course hope isn't going to tell you the future, but whether you admit it or not. You fear that hope won't deliever. If you remain bound by the chains of fear, one has only to hope to be set free. I hope to be a better artist, will letting the fear of failure stop me make that happen, no. I hope every picture is better then the last, this isn't always the case, but then I just hope again. If hope is nothing without will to enact it, maybe you just lack the will to hope and lack the will to bury fear. Why do you thing my own cutie mark is blue and yellow. To represent fear and hope. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
