Rifter grinned. The moment Tyro said go, he flew at the door full speed, before swiftly doing an arial ace, cutting the door into neat little pieces with his talons, before knocking it down with his tail. He was clearly enjoying himself.
"I guess that's our cue". Steel sprinted out getting a bit of wooden debris in his mane. Then turned left and continued sprinting looking behind at ria.
Ria's wings were a blur as she glided past Steel. A small breeze stirred her feathers. She laughed in glee and skimmed the celling. She turned the corner and....(What did she see, Tyro? GUARDS?!? :gasp
(Sorry. Been kinda busy.) The two guards standing behind each corner begin to turn around, moving in to check what that massive bang noise was. The pair of them carried a sort of saddle-mounted version of a tommy gun on his back. A complicated, half-finished box of clockwork and gun barrel on one side was fed ammo from a container on the other side. A mouth-operated switch in front of their faces seemed to activate the complicated contraption. They pulled on the bits, activating the two weapons as the group charges in. The clockwork commences a loud, rhythmic ticking that was getting faster and faster along with a high-pitched whine while the guns warmed up. "Quick! Before they fire!" Tyro shouts, closing in on a guard.
Fair Capriccio watched the chaos from behind Karl, whom which she was clinging to for dear life. Her foreleg wrapped around his neck and squeezed him tight to herself. Once the gunfire began, she squealed "W- Wait for me! Don't leave me here!" and let go of poor Karl, running through the door of the room and into the hallway outside in pursuit of the others.
A slight breeze played with Fair's mane, and Ria turned a corner and saw her. "Com'on!" she said, and spun in a tight circle around her. Fair was lifted in the air, and was following Ria around a few corners, to Tyro. She placed her down gently, and flew away, presumably to go help Steel.
Karl started slowly snickering, then he burst out into laughter, banging his right front hoof on the floor. "She was clinging onto a potential fire bomb! How stu- how stupid can one be!" He seemingly calmed down and stood up, looking around. He wiped the tears off and sat down in his meditation position. In a few seconds, he was hovering in the air again, concentrating. Soon, flames started circling around him as the light of the room dimmed down to accomodate its new temporary light source. A hexagonal net forms around him as a shield to protect him from any outside damage, which helped him concentrate. He was still smiling slightly from the incident, sporting a small blush from the whole situation.
"Time to have a little fun" Shadow said as she quickly used her lighter to set her wings on fire. Taking to the air as quickly as possible. The right guard noticed the flaming Pegasi and adjusted his weapon to fire at her. Noticing that she hadn't nearly covered enough distance to strike the guard before he opened fire, Shadow flapped as hard backwards as she could with her wings, Creating a stream of fire which funnelled itself into a ball in front of her as she propelled both herself and the flames back. "Looks like today's going to be the testing day for this technique" Shadow used what propulsion she had left to wheel herself around, folding her wings towards her body as she did so. After having spun a full 360 degrees, she unfolded her wings with as much force as she could muster, sending the fireball launching towards the right guard. For the briefest moment during the stunt, Cyanside took over and yelled out theatrically: "Shooting Star" Before Shadow took over again as the force of the propulsion sent her crashing into the ground. Perhaps the technique could use a little touching up she thought to herself as she ruffled her wings to put out the flames and take her mind off the pain she felt from the impact.
Steel charged at the guards with a charged horn. The guard noticed him and the bullets went flying but most just grazed him. Finally a bullet hit his Stetson. "alright thats it no one touches my hat". He picked up speed charging at him and knocking him out. "I find the defendant guilty". He tuned to the group. "hey anyone want to try one of these clockwork gun things out".
Ria's kick to the head lands the distraction Steel needs to finish the guard off with his uppercut of justice. The weapon's internal mechanisms wind down as the guard does the same, collapsing to the floor in a heap. Cyanside's fireball flies past Tyro and impacts the guard. Being only fire, it splashes over him, charring his fur. With the fiery distraction taken care off, Tyro tackles the guard. At Tyro's touch, the guard's strength leaves him and he flops like his colleague. "All right! That worked amazingly! Great work everypony!" Tyro said, trying to encourage some positivity in his team. High spirits could mean the difference between getting out of here in one piece or several. He was fighting with a lawyer, for instance. "Maybe the gun ought to go to Capriccio. She'll need something to defend herself with and harsh language isn't going to cut it here. The library isn't particularly far. If we hurry, we can get there and stop Cydonia from doing anything horrible with it. Everypony with me?"
"That was fun!" said Ria cheerfully and started walking. She stopped suddenly and frowned. "Did I really just say that?" she asked, alarmed. She shrugged and her face smoothed. "Right behind you, Tyro."
Fair Capriccio stared repulsively at the gun. "Do I have to? I mean, you guys took them out quite fine and, well frankly I don't know how to use this thing! She put a hoof on it and recoiled. "It feels like death. Can't I just follow you through?
"It's just for protection." said Ria sympathetically. She didn't like weapons herself, and was much happier relying on her... magic? Was that right? Abilities, more like. She shook her head and went on. "While you can play the Flugelhorn absolutely beautifully, your cutie mark isn't a weapon, or something of defense, not a bad thing, but it's safer if you just keep the weapon to defend yourself. If you'd like, I can carry it until you need it, thought I think it would be better if you got used to it."
"Look Fair Cappuccino or whatever your name is, you're clearly the weakest of us here. It only makes sense that you should carry a weapon. Unless you'd much rather prefer being six-feet under." Shadow walked after Tyro, not looking back to see if the others followed suite. As she strolled up alongside Tyro, she whispered as silently as she could into his ear. "You better know what you're doing here Tyro, if we have something like that happens again, and something goes wrong or Cyanside gets hurt, I'm holding you personally responsible for it."
Rifter nodded and walked up next to Tyro. "I'm with ya mateys. But, first things first. Which one of ya got a plan?"
"All right!" Tyro said, glad that no-pony had died yet. He looks up and down the corridors, checking with his eyes and ears for anything approaching. The coast appeared to be clear for now. That probably meant that the search in the Library was where all effort was focused right now. If they moved fast and quietly, they might be able to launch an attack on the guards as they looked through all the bookshelves. "Everypony! We need to move as quickly and as quietly as possible. I can't hear any guards right now but there's nothing to suggest that they're all in the Library. We need to play this smart. When we get to the Library, we'll need the element of surprise to get rid of Cydonia's ponies so silence is key. Can you do that for me?" He had paws so he knew he could be pretty silent when he needed to be. His steps could be like velvet rustling. However, a drunk griffin and a group of ponies that couldn't remove their hooves from the equation with flight had Tyro gravely concerned. Cappriccio, Cyanside and Steel could all stuff this up for them if they weren't careful. "The library is this way. Keep quiet." He trots off down a corridor, keeping his senses as sharp as possible down the decayed hallway. No point trying to smell anything when the only scent on the air was of dust.
Fair Capriccio nodded uncertainly at Tyro's orders. Even he doesn't know their intentions, she deemed. Placing one last glance at the weapon on the ground, she began moving forward with light hooves. After a few steps, she stopped and looked back at the weapon again. You don't have to use it, you know, she thought to herself. It's just a precaution. Sweat beaded on her forehead and she bit her lip. It's a weapon... but this is my only chance. Sighing, Fair Capriccio turned back around and walked back to the fallen guard. Grabbing the gun with her teeth, she slung it onto her back and turned back to the rest of the group. "Let's get going." she said grimly. The faster we get where we need to be, the less of a chance I'll have to use this.
"Good job, Fair." said Ria approvingly. She spoke a little louder, but still soft. "I can carry a maximum of two ponies in the air, I think. Anypony not have light feet?"
"Watch out for the ponies that need it Ria, I'm called Shadow for a reason" Yeah, but I'm not, so...could we perhaps just hang back and let them do it this time Shadow...we don't want to kill anypony...do we? Cyanside said to Shadow within the sanctity of their shared conscious. Hmmph The darkness of Shadows coat fell away to be replaced by the white of Cyanside's, the colours of her mane shifting back to their normal state. "Sorry about Shadow guys, she can be a bit un-trusting of others abilities...she's just like that because she cares for me...I think I should be able to carry a pony if i have to" Cyanside said, fluttering her wings to make sure they were still in one piece from crashing into the ground earlier. Aside from a few droplets of blood dribbling out from a cut she had obtained during the crash, they seemed to be in good condition.
