(Morphin/Crim) The Rebootening

Somewhere in Australia...

A woman sat nearby the fireplace while the television lazily broadcasted the six o' clock news, a small glass of whiskey nearby on a small coffee table as the radiant glow of the flames nearby lit the room in a dim orange light among the sea of darkness outside. Alongside long waves of vibrant white hair going down her very pale body, she was still dressed in her work clothes after performing her job for the day. She was a woman named Winter Rush, older sister to a mother who passed away during childbirth and the only parental figure that her sister's child ever had, adopting him as her own.....especially since she could never have kids.

Her "son" had walked through the door almost several minutes after she had arrived home, closing it behind him as he walked in. The teen had vibrant purple and yellow hair, black pants, a blank white shirt and a dark grey hoodie. Around his neck was a silver necklace, which he valued more then almost anything in the world. His blue eyes looked fairly tired despite it being so early, but it didn't matter. Today had been a long day for him...

"Hey Auntie" Crimson told his adoptive mother. Winter didn't wish to wait until later until he told him the news, this was life-changing for the two of them.

"Hey champ, how are you feeling?" Winter told him before suddenly pulling the taller teenager into a hug. "Anyway, I have good news son. I found a job in another city, that way you won't have to deal with anyone who is going to hurt you, especially....that animal and his friends anymore."

Crimson's eyes lit up. "That's great to hear, Auntie"

I'm sorry son, if I had done something earlier this wouldn't have happened." Auntie Winter broke the hug. We're finally moving out of this dump. I spent most of my lifesaving's so we could move to have a better life."

"Where are we going?" Crim asked.

"Canterlot, California" She said. "It's very, very far away from here, and that means that we'll be far away from trouble. As soon as you pack your stuff, we will get out of here. I have started packing your things already. I spent most of today working on getting the two of us American Citizenship as well, which is lucky since we have relatives there. Auntie then smiled at her adoptive son. "It also saves on medical bills. Isn't that great son? You'll be able to make new friends!" She said in her usual loving way. "And I know how special that my son is....you're our little blessing," she says as she prints a kiss on your forehead.

Crimson chuckled. "Auntiiie..." before pulling her into another warm hug. No more violence, no more of the nightmares that the small family would have to ensure from the terrors of the underworld. It was time to start again, fresh.

"I can't wait...." Crimson said happily.

 

Around the same time, in Canterlot, California...

Circuit Breaker was a sophomore at the local high school. He had no place that he could afford to live, so he stayed in a local hotel with his only possessions: a Nintendo 3DS and a smartphone, which he paid for with a job as a McDonald's fry cook. He didn't really like talking to people that much, either. Sure, once he opened up, one would find that he was very hot-blooded and passionate about the things he enjoyed, but he mostly kept to himself. Not that he didn't feel lonely at times.

Light gray skin covered his rather unimpressive frame, his face freckled, with messy chestnut hair and thick, square glasses covering his dark brown eyes. His lime green polo shirt and baggy khaki jeans made him look even nerdier than he was, even with his hi-top sneakers.

School was starting to take its toll on him. The drive to learn he had since kindergarten was gone, replaced with jaded bitterness towards the American educational system. Video games and the Internet, his usual hobbies, were no longer enough for him to take his mind off of things. He needed something he had never had before to fill the void.

He needed a friend...

Several Days Later...

The plane descended upon the landscape of Canterlot, as the airstrip came into view and the wheels were opened. The flight overseas took nearly two days, with a small break in Hawaii. Crimson and Winter took the opportunity to skip being Jet-lagged, and drugged themselves with sleeping pills on purpose. By the time they woke up again on their second sleep, they just flew into the mainland.

Crimson and Winter both took their luggage and headed via taxi to the location of their new home, which Winter bought using the excess-funds of her life savings for the two of them. Soon, while the moving vans began to arrive with several men lifting boxes all over the place, it would take a few days for the two of them to properly settle down. Winter had her new job which would promise the two of them a very stable standard of living, but they were nowhere near rich, although Winter's qualifications had scored her an excellent job with an excellent pay.

Crimson, on the other hand, was about to enroll at Canterlot High School. He had an entire weekend to himself, and on Monday, was about to start a new chapter of his life.

He just hoped it was nothing like his old one....

 

Circuit heard that there was a new student at the school that day. He had just moved in from Australia, apparently. Circuit reasoned to himself that since this new student had no friends, they had something in common, thus, from his understanding, they could potentially bond. He hoped he knew what he was doing, however. He didn't want to make a bad first impression.

Lunchtime was Circuit's much-needed break from the increasingly boring classes, and was thus the perfect time to introduce himself.

He looked over to a table at the far end of the cafeteria, where a young man, about his age, sat. Purple and yellow hair draped his shoulders, as his blue eyes gazed blankly out in the distance. His dark red skin showed some scars here and there, but was otherwise unblemished. He wore a weathered gray hoodie over a dirt-stained white T-shirt and black, patch-covered jeans. The new student's shoes seemed to have been through years of wear and tear. The only article of clothing that seemed undamaged was a silver necklace.

Circuit sat down nervously next to the young man.

"Uh... hi," he said, uncertainly.

 

Crimson had turned around to find another student about his age next to him, introducing himself for the first time. He was going to be formally introduced by the teachers at some point, but there was no harm in saying hello prior. Besides, the man next to him looked nervous enough as he was to sit next to the battle-worn man, the problem was, had he known who he was, would he have scared him away?

"Oh, hey..." Crimson said back.

 

"Nice to meet you," said Circuit, holding out his quivering hand to the new student. "What's your name?"

 

He took the handshake. "Crimson Lionheart, or just Crim for short. Only been in America for a few days, so I'm still new here"

 

Circuit felt Crimson grip his hand firmly as he shook it, not so firmly as to cut off circulation to his fingers, but firm nonetheless.

"Hello," he said, "I'm Circuit Breaker."

 

Crimson just smiled back. "Which way is Classroom 6? That's my next class"

 

"That's my next period as well, actually," said Circuit, somewhat less nervously than before, "I'll show you the way there, if you want."

 

"Yeah, I'll just head with you" Crim just replied. "Apparently the Principal's and whatnot are introducing me personally"

 

"Gotcha," said Circuit, as the bell rang for fourth period and he got up to show Crimson the way to his next class.

 

By the next class, the sea of talkative students speaking about their weekend to each other was suddenly replaced as Principal Celestia entered the room to speak to one of the teachers, as well as bringing a new student into the class. Crimson followed her in as all of the eyes darted on him, as Celestia spoke aloud.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet a new student today. This is Crimson Lionheart, recent arrival to Canterlot High all the way from Australia. He hasn't been here for very long, so I'd encourage all of you to give him a warm welcome to the school and the country."

 

None of the students wanted to be rude, so they gave Crimson a round of applause. After Celestia had finished introducing him, class began.

Pre-algebra was not a class that Circuit did very well with. Ever since entering high school, math had gone from one of his best subjects to one of his worst, as evidenced by the fact that he was struggling to maintain a C in this class. However, Circuit now had two good reasons to not decide to fall asleep right there in the classroom as Ms. Harshwinny blabbed on about one of the 27 billion ways he was expected to solve for x. One was Crimson. The other, however, made him even more nervous than trying to talk to Crimson did, because at least Circuit knew that he had something in common with him. He didn't really know anything about his crush sitting two rows away from him, other than the fact that she was the pride and joy of the varsity girls' soccer team, as well as having been involved with an incident that had happened during this year's Fall Formal. She was incredibly beautiful, as well, with her smooth, well-toned sky blue skin and long, flowing multi-colored hair. She wore multi-colored socks under her knee-high blue Converse All-Stars, with a hot pink miniskirt covering her form-fitting gym shorts. A blue jacket was worn over her white T-shirt bearing a picture of a cloud that had a red, yellow and blue lightning bolt coming out of it. But her most beautiful feature, to Circuit at least, was her bright magenta eyes.

Not that he'd be seeing them at the moment, because Rainbow Dash was fast asleep with her head buried in the textbook.

 

Being the new kid, Crimson was fortunate enough to have nothing to prove just yet among the other students. His weakest subject was math either way, but he did well enough to at least pass. But being the fresh arrival to CHS, it left almost limitless potential to make potential friends, rivals and enemies. He hoped that this was nothing as it was back home, where the hard streets had taught him to survive in some totally unorthodox ways.

But...he was thankful for being alive. He should have died years ago due to the frequency and size of the attacks he received, but because of it, he came out of it as a better person. Despite his somewhat rough exterior actually giving the impression that he either looks like a homeless man, or slack.

 

"Ms. Dash!" snapped Ms. Harshwinny at the sleeping soccer prodigy, waking her up, "What is the solution to number seven?"

Rainbow Dash groaned. "Why are you asking me? You obviously know the answer," she replied sarcastically.

"That's enough backtalk out of you, young lady," sneered Ms. Harshwinny, clearly agitated, "See me after class."

Rainbow Dash simply sighed in impatience. She just wanted to go home and play video games, but that would have to wait. She glanced over at the nerdy guy two rows to her left, obviously struggling with his work as much as she was. As much of a nerd as he was, she couldn't help but think he was cute. She didn't even know his name, but she would fix that after school. She just had to catch up with him when the final bell rang.

 

The rest of the day went smoothly for Crim. Despite the reluctance of several students to talk to him, it seemed that the first person he could actually count upon being the closest thing to a friend was Circuit. After class finished for the day, just after the final bell was called for the day, Crim went to the locker to pack....noticing the sky blue girl walk up to Circuit's locker while he was sidetracked, and watched curiously as he packed.

 

"Oh, uh... Heh... Hi, Rainbow," said Circuit nervously, though he still tried to put on a smile.

"Hey there. You're the guy from Pre-algebra fourth period who sots two rows across from me, right?" asked Rainbow Dash.

Circuit was confused and panicked. Was Rainbow Dash really talking to him? If so, why? All he could do was nod.

"What's your name?" she asked him.

"C... Circuit Breaker," he replied.

 

Crimson took notice of this from across the hallway, packing his backs while listening carefully about what the two of them were saying...
