Unfortunately, for the life of me, I simply cannot come up with a name for him. As you can imagine this is irritating and the fan fic I'm working on is full of blanks. His cutie mark represents a strong-willed determination to overcome obstacles and challenges. The actual image is my avatar. Help me out if you can!

Hey, and welcome! Sadly, I'm having trouble with my own pony's name, let alone someone else's. As you're an alicorn, and it's determination and willpower you want, we can give a one word name. *shrugs* Seeing that there are only two alicorns I can draw reference from I could say the name to have a base in a primal force. Now to play with the Latin. An object symbolized for having the traits of the cutie mark you have would be stone/earth. So you can goof around with this until you get something you like the sound of. Heck you can just disregard everything I said. *chuckles*
