"I will give you exactly one month," he said with a frown. "Do you really not want me to be there when you go?"
She shook her head immediately. "I want you to be as far as you possibly can be," she told him. "I want you safe more than I want you close."
She looked relieved. There was a silence before she moved, shifting into his lap and slipping her arms around his neck.
She hesitated, considering this. "I want to get it over with," she said quietly. "Maybe tomorrow night."
"I know you don't," she told him quietly, cupping his jaw in her hands. "But that's mainly because you have a big crush on me."
She looked a little irritated. "Sure, it's a compromise. I don't go inside. That's a big one. You are allowed to break me out. That's another big one. You're not in another country. That's huge."
