I never knew the parts to my wings.

I bet Pinkie Pie's seen this at least twice. And why?

    You know.

Yes I could picture Pinkie running around singing this haha. And also it teaches people that "Alicorn" isn't the best term for Celestia and Luna, at least for me it isn't.

When I started getting into the MLP fandom and whatnot, I thought that an Alicorn was either

    a) A UniPeg

    or

    b) An Immortal pony. I read "To Be an Alicorn" and assumed that Twilight was an Alicorn since it described her as "forever young and pretty".

    Cupcakes!

    :derpe:

Anyways, I know some of the body parts and I have yet to see the video. Maybe after my upload.

Nice find, I think this was on EqD earlier. (I saw?)

Yeah. I did some more reading and Alicorn is a term used by well known fantasy authors. It is the combination of the latin words for wing (ala) and horn (cornu). But the actual material for the horn was called Alicorn in the Middle-Ages and Renaissance period. So both are considered correct. Although I'm sure there are some who would say otherwise.

A few weeks back I had an argument with a friend over what an Alicorn was. I kept telling her that an Alicorn was a UniPeg. She said that it was the horn. We're both correct then.

Pretty much. The term "alicorn" meaning the horn's material was traced back to the Middle-Ages, and the Renaissance eras. So in terms of what came first - Alicorn was originally used for the material. Fantasy authors coining the term meaning Winged Unicorn, came after.

I'm getting this from Wikipedia so please don't yell at me if I'm wrong. Other sites say it too, so I'm going to say this is correct.

I feel like I've seen this before in less-than-video format. It explains so much, though. <3
