My parents accepted me being a Brony as well. Although the fact that yours said "as long as you're not gay" bothers me.

Animeguy, congrats on telling the family. its the hardest thing i had to do as a brony. in response to all the 'gay...' comments, parents tend to be overly protective and anti-gay. i understand where they were coming from. still... why does everyone assume?
I'm a Unitarian Universalist which is a kind of religion where we accept everyone no matter of sexual orientation or gender or color or religion. But anyways. back on topic Congratulations again. I told my family and they were fine with it.. They thought it was a bit odd and my mom teased me all thanksgiving break, but they accepted it. It's a great feel when they do accept your choice to be a brony.
