What do you guys think of her? She didn't appear in her glory for too long, but she sure is majestic. I'll just leave this topic here...
She reminds me of a weird doubt I always had: if the phoenix is reborn from the ashes and its singing/chirps awakens/gives birth to another phoenix, how does it lay an egg? Better yet, why there are male and female of that species if they're born from partenogenesis?? Same thing about Komodo dragon, perhaps!
This is the only Creature in the world of Equestria that had a better design than it was before. The dragon's are meh, Cockatrice are bad, Parasprites are... I dunno. This is the only creature that jumps in your eye, that looks dynamic. MLPFiM is great and stuff, but the creature's are horrible.
Jary: Probably for the sake of us paying attention to ponies. xD I think Philomena is a funny character. As the pet usually takes after the owner like a child takes after the parent, she's a trickster and funloving, just like Celestia herself.
Well, I can honestly say, at first I had no idea she (i'm assuming she, hence the way the name sounds) was a phoenix! When she burned up, I was thinking "Ummmmmm.... alright! So, she's just ashes now? Well, it was nice knowing you Fluttershy!"
Skydancer you weren't the only one i thought the bird just up and died, leaving me to think for a few seconds that Fluttershy was going to be crushed with guilt forever Troll phoenix got me, though the design was really impressive to me.
I knew it was a Phoenix when I first saw it, because there was no way that even Trollestia would neglect an animal. Philomena is a troll pet of a troll owner and i thought she was quite funny pre-rejuvenation. The only thing that threw me off was how radical the different versions looked from each other. Ugly chicken thing before; majestic, slim beauty after.
As soon as she burst into flames, I realised she was a phoenix, but before that, I had no idea. She does have a cool design afterwards. Really cool actully. Might get a Philomena tattoo...
I caught on fairly quickly, but definitely not from the start. It's amazing how peaceful the land can be when it's being ruled by such a troll. :U
