(Okay, they are departing for Quelien!) Jack leaned against the edge of the ship with crossed arms, gazing down at the churning waster below. His brow was drawn in a slight frown as he studied it, and his head was tilted as if he were trying to figure out a difficult problem.
Avice was silent as she watched from a distance, hidden slightly behind a wall. She began to approach, her footsteps quiet as she snuck up behind him. Raising her arms menacingly, she prepared for the attack, inching closer. "RAH!" she shrieked, quickly closing both of her hands on his shoulders as she did so.
"Gah!" he gasped, spinning around quickly in a defensive position. He crouched slightly, and watched her warily, breathing heavily before he realized it was her. "God damn it," he said, breathing a sigh of relief. "That scared the hell out of me."
"Then I consider it a success!" She said, placing her hands on hips with a crooked grin. "I got you good."
"Oh c'mon, we both know that's not true!" She cocked her head. "You wouldn't be my partner if that was true."
"If you think that I had anything to do with partnering," he said with mock innocence. "You are wrong. Natalia chose those. No help from me. None whatsoever."
"Hmph." She crossed her arms. "Well if you hate me that much, then why didn't you say something when she was making the list?" Her tone was sarcastic, yet teasing, and she shunned him.
"Maybe I did," he said nonchalantly, leaning against the wall again. "Maybe I expressed my feelings to Natalia." (That's exactly what he did.)
"Did you?" she asked, pursing her lips as curiosity took over. "And what did you say?" (Feelings are for chumps!)
"But I want to knoooooow! You have to tell me!" she pleaded, lightly shaking his arm. "It is a crime to keep it from me, now."
She paused tapping her chin. "No, not really. I enjoy your company, and killing you would really ruin that."
"I'm sure it's not just your charisma. You've got good fighting skills, I'm sure. I mean, I've never had to fight you, but I'm sure you're stronger than me!"
"Yeah, but... If we were to actually fight, I'd probably lose. Especially without a sword." She leaned against the railing.
