"What on Earth... It just doesn't make any sense to me. I wish we could just figure it out..." Avice let out a deep sigh, tapping the floorboard.
"I don't socialize much on this ship, so I wouldn't know. In fact, I usually spend my time painting or something. But from what I can tell, nobody really seems like a killer."
"Exactly. And I can't help but feel like the attacker did what they did because of the potential riches this journey offers." He paused for a moment, and then focused on another comment Avice had made. "When did you start painting?" he said, looking up at her from the floor.
"I've been painting since I was young. It's in my blood, I think. Sometimes when I run out of space in my box of art I bottle up old pictures and throw them into the sea."
"Maybe it's better that way ," he said, drumming his fingers on the boards beneath him. "It adds a whole level of intrigue to the situation." His eyelids fluttered tiredly, but he turned his head and looked at Avice. "I'd love to see your work sometime, if you would be okay with it.. We don't really see a lot of creative endeavors here."
He grinned, and leaned his head back to the deck, closing his eyes again. "I'm going to fall asleep here if I stay like this for too long," he said.
He shook his head. "It's actually really nice, believe it or not. I would sleep out here at night, if it wasn't for the fact that there was an attacker on the loose."
He laughed. His nose, lightly dotted with freckles, crinkled when he laughed. "Then you get wet, and you go to your room feeling like an idiot."
Avice shook her head, pulling her legs closer to her. "I wouldn't risk it anyways. Unless it's a night with completely clear skies."
Avice held her tongue, raising an eyebrow. "Whatever you say... I just don't want to risk sleeping in rain." She shrugged.
"Well, in the end, I'm the one that is soaking wet and rudely awakened, and you're dry and asleep," Jack amended.
Avice laughed, laying on her stomach. "That's a sad thought. Miserable because you decided to sleep in the rain. Hehe."
"Don't laugh at my misery!" He opened his eyes, squinting slightly and turned to look up at Avice. "It would be a tragedy."
