I'm new to this forum but i was a member on animecrazy.net's forum for about 2 or three years before the forum died and was a top consideration for admin on multiple occasions... I've been addicted to mlp:fim for quite some time but not exactly an expert on it. I very much love the music you've played on the radio and was hoping for consideration as a dj. Although not exactly interested in forum work.

While I am sure there are a lot of other bronies available to DJ, we always have a lot of "Auto-brony" time on the radio. I tend to be on quite a bit as I am doing online classes at least an hour or two each day. I would absolutely be willing to help fill in some of the down-time. I have been active with EPR for a solid month or so now and have a fairly good grasp of how things work here.

Unfortunately, you also have to be active in the forums. And, to top it all off, I've never even seen you before, and I remember almost every member that was in our livestream chat when I was on. Saying almost because of brony day and the spammers.

Also, I'n not saying that I doubt you on the animecrazy thing, however, it's extremely unlikely that a possible administrator of a website would show up on our site, never introduce him/herself to Everypony, and ask to become a DJ without doing any forum or chat work.

Ok, so we've had a lot of applications recently - I just want to remind people of a few things and then I'll explain our current situation.

DJ's - What do we really look for?

• First and foremost I can't stress enough how there is more to DJ's duties than merely sitting in a Livestream studio and cueing a few tracks, you WILL be expected to do ALL the following in equal measure and a lot of the time you will not be directed to do so but are merely expected to use your initiative and perform independently.
It's also worth noting no previous experience is required with livestream or similar features, we can and are willing to teach applicants the ropes.
It should also be noted that being an admin, moderator or 'DJ' (and similar) on any other site means absolutely nothing to us, it doesn't help you in any way shape or form, we might not have heard of that site, we don't know what it was like, you haven't got certificates to prove it, you might've only been one for a day before being banned or whatever. It doesn't help, so you really don't need to mention it.

• The above is also the bare minimum we will expect from any DJ. Ultimately Everypony Radio and Everypony.com are 100% non-profit developments and are here purely for community interest and entertainment. However we do strive to deliver those qualities to the absolute pinnacle of our team's collective ability and as such, it is vital that our DJ's are 'up to scratch' - Autobrony's great and allows us to run the radio 24-7 but as many of you have already mentioned it just can't compete with live DJ's - The DJ's do really make the radio and as such we do look for the very best, those who can bring something to the radio and not just perform for it. Take some our current DJ's for example, as well as performing the above duties, some are responsible for the organisation and upkeep of our media list document - It's not on the list, it wasn't even planned, it's something one of the DJ's suggested, started up of his own accord and the rest of us supported him and boy has it proven useful. These are the type of people we are looking for, it's all well and good if your active on the station and can fill the typical criteria but at the end of the day the DJ's we want are the DJ's who are truly passionate about the radio and can bring something to us no one else can. Those who can not only support the radio but help it advance in some way shape or form and even more crucially...
DJ'S Who can be left to work and help the radio independently, without having to be 'spoon fed' DJing times or instructions.

Our Current Situation

As any applicants should already know we use livestream.com's services to provide all the basic aspects of the radio stream and chat. Currently our stream consists of infrequent, unpredictable DJ time (just as and when we can) - Autobrony (random playlists by our DJ's) 24-7 (when no DJ is on) and the occasional 'event' - e.g. weekly episodes and the brony day mareathon/broadcast.

That's our current stage, what we aimed to achieve sometimes this year was a more predictable schedule - if you watch music channels you'll get the idea.
So you can actually check our calendar and see there will be a flutterathon at such and such time followed by 4hrs of random autbrony followed by an episode then iamnotacleverpony vs wooden toaster and all of this kind of stuff. It all sounds great but sadly there is a lot of organisation work involved and well time DJing is time lost organising and vice-versa so I do apologise if it seems we're neglecting the DJ side of things a little but we're working hard to provide a better experience for all of you and I can imagine your reactions:

"Get more DJ's then!"

And don't threat, we will! But seeing as we're overhauling the system so much we'd rather not have to 'train' people twice (with our methods and protocols, which will be changing drastically (not so much any software)) so please just bare with us, it's for the better I assure you!

Thanks for the support as always Everypony I hoped this helps shed a little light on the current situation,

~ Grey Nightmare

im spike_teh_dwagunz... EvryknositsMad is my username for most things because its my gamertag on xbox and easy for me to remember... the spike thing was because he's my favorite character... i never said i wouldn't do chat work... and i was just recently told of the site so thats why and im not asking for you to hire me on the spot or anything im trying to say im free to do it pretty much because there is a lot of autobrony and im kinda tired of straight forums forums forums all day everyday...
I now read grey's recent post and I may have not been clear I never was an admin I turned it down cuz they expected me to do things I couldnt, but if it helps I have learned for over a year how to code websites it seems off topic i know but eh it couldnt hurt me any could it?

Ever since the Brony day, I don't know the majority of all the chatters now. Well I guess I'll have to get to know more people then.

@Grey and Others; I agree that working independently is important when becoming a DJ.

Also a question, if somepony were to become a DJ, would we have a Tutorial or something set up for us,or is DJ'ing just straightforward and simple?

I guess this is the answer :DFH:

Thanks.

While I don't want to seem cocky, I've decided to apply. I would love to DJ, and I'm normally on when the other DJ's have gone to bed. I own my own gaming community, so I know how to effectively moderate people. I've been around long enough to where people know me, even if it's by different names. I was Philomena, but Sol is the name I've decided to stick with.

I have a good sense for most of the songs on the song list, and I know what people enjoy. I am charismatic, and I have adequate grammar and spelling skills. You can almost always find me in the RP chat, as I enjoy role-playing quite a lot. I also think I could set up some EPR merchandise sales, with profits going to charity, as EPR is non-profit.

I know there are many deserving ponies in front of me in line, but I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a shot. Thanks for considering my application!

Hello! Even though seeing about 5 pages of very deserving ponies, I'd love to be a DJ for everypony radio.

I feel i'm am good friends with (Most) of the ponies on the livestream, and i seem too know about what everyone likes, and what everyone doesn't care for that much, I am mature, though can be entertaining and goofy at some points, I have very great leadership skills (Being able to run a minecraft server of my own, being a clan leader, etc) And am very good at playing a leadership role. I am also on, FREQUENTLY, including nighttime like at 3:00 am and sometimes early as of 8:00 am. I'm also willing to manage or host a news cast on the livestream as an event (With a little help). I'm very friendly, but not afraid to tell someone they can not do something. I also know a lot about ponies and the radio station (Well most of it...) So if someone need a question answered, it most likely wouldn't be a problem.

Thank you for reading my app, and i hope i can get picked!

Ah, what the hay, why not toss my name out there. I honestly have very little to do with my life between the hours of 10 PM (PST) and 3 AM (PST) [which, it seems EPR lacks DJ's around that time frame when I'm on o_O], sometimes earlier and sometimes later depending on how my insomnia decides to play with me. When internet permits (I'm currently on my last day of house sitting a house with crappy internet, thank Celestia) I'm on every single day. I just introduced myself on the forums and I plan to be more active on them, but I'm generally very active in the EPR chat room! And the music is in my sooooul! If I'm not working with horses or working, I'll generally be on for hours at a time throughout the day. Not to mention I'm always open to finding new and awesome MLP-related videos on youtube, so I'd totally be open to going out on a new materials hunt! Bahahahhaha.

So just tossin' my name into the mix if you ever have a need for a DJ! Thanks for your consideration.

I've been thinking this over long and hard. On one hand, I'd love to help in some way here rather than just lurking about. But on the other, I'm pretty sure I won't get to be one. Either way, might as well ask. Never ask, never know.

Time wise, I'd have no problem. I do have a social life, but I go out at weird times. From about 6pm-5am I have access to the internet (British time, although I'd be more than happy to change that to fit the time of the majority of bronies here. Seriously, any time at all).
As for the actual requirements, nothing there seemed like a problem. I'd be happy to go out on my own back and get some songs in, and I like to think I'm able to keep on top of spammers. I'd love to answer any questions, and I'm sure I'd constantly think of things to help improve the site.

Well, I can't think of anything more to say, so I'll just go eat a sandwich. Doubt I'll get it (the position, not the sandwich), but I just want to make it clear I'm willing to help around here!

Cheers anyway, much love.

DJ Application

You can guess why I'm writing, I suppose. I hadn't really given applying much consideration until today, y'know. I knew there were a lot of applications, and it would be a burden on those people who will be choosing new DJ's in the future. I've never much wanted a leadership role before, either, which pushed me further away from applying.

That changed today. I found a reason to take a role of leadership that I can get behind. This website showed the ultimate reveal of true love between Flash and Foxy, and that was amazing to me. Even further, the reaction by those present was even more amazing. The event was, by definition, awesome. It proved to me that there is, in fact, something in the world that is worth my time and that I wish to support. As such, I'm here to toss my name out there for promotion to DJ.

I have a pretty short history of roles that display any experience in a form of leadership capability, the following being the only one.

1. In World of Warcraft, I was an officer of the guild Kalamitous Intent. My duties were to assist in reviewing applications, train new members of my given class and specialization, and monitor members for any form of behavior that would demand some form of moderation.

As for the requirements, during my summer break I will be free for the greater part, so actively DJ'ing, monitoring the chat, monitoring the forums, and doing external work to assist the site and stream will be easy enough. During school, due to my class list including two AP's and an Honors, I will be more limited in my actions, but will generally be home and free/awake to assist with the station from 4:30pm - 9pm EST. During school hours, I may drop in (a lot), but will not be able to host the stream.

Should there be anything else that I say and have missed, feel free to inform me. Otherwise, thank you for considering my application.

Signed,
mtymidgetjr

I figure if I don't at least apply, then I'll never know. So here I am, throwing in my lucky horseshoe to the already large list of applicants. Even though I'm a week new on the site, I've been active on the forums, in EPR, and in the RP chat. I'd need someone to show me the ropes initially at DJing, but once I get the hang of it I'll be all set. To contribute further, I'll be taking some college courses in various programming programs, such as Visual Basic, MS Access, and SQL. So once I get through those courses, I'll be able to help with programming for the site if need be. I'm also very willing to moderate in the EPR chat and the RP chat. I can also take the time to go on the hunt for potential new videos, and inquire if the creator would be willing to let us play their creation. I'm in the United States under the Mountain Time Zone (-7). Since I'm taking online college courses this semester, I can easily take some time to put in a good couple hours of DJing. My schedule is flexible, but I'm most free from around noon to 2 or 3 p.m., 5-8 p.m., and about 10:30 p.m. to 2 or 3 a.m.

Want me to put up my resume and cover letter as well :derpe:? Thank you for taking the time to read through this, and thank you for your consideration.
