The creature behind the counter passed them their desserts, and Nightshade started looking for an empty table. There were none. Finally, in frustration, she said, "I need somewhere to sit." A table and two chairs appeared out of nowhere, and she sat down with her yogurt.
"That's actually... that's kinda spooky." Raven shrugged it off and sat down with her. She took a small bite of her yogurt and looked genuinely shocked.
"Yeah, I do. Maybe later you'll change your mind on bothering Tirek? I know some ponies who wanna give him a nice, little piledriver."
"We can't exactly let him out of his cage. It'd be nice, but eternal imprisonment is gonna have to be enough." She shrugged. "You know the way to the chaos dimension. Lead on."
"Here in a sec." Raven continued eating. "You know, I think I said it earlier, but the only way I know to get in takes you to a planet in the dimension that's pretty tame compared to the other parts. I spent some serious time there, never saw Discord once."
Nightshade nodded. "I remember. I just need help getting to the realm. Once I'm there, I can find him pretty easily."
"That's fine. You might wanna lend me some magic. Otherwise it'll be hard as balls for me to take you anywhere."
She nodded, "Well, normally I can I only mess with Ridley's stuff, but that's implied permission, right?" She placed a hoof on Raven's head. "Alright, just hold still a second and I'll give you what you need." She removed the hoof. "And done."
Nightshade pushed what was left of her yogurt into a small portal. "My freezer at home," she explained. "Yeah, I'm ready when you are."
"Well, for this to work, you've gotta put your hoof on my flank. Kidding. But you do need to touch me."
"Of course, hon." Raven caressed her cheek before taking them to a new location with their combined magic. This location was a wide, tall, round chamber with stone walls, hundreds of portals in doorways lining the walls, many floating candles high up by theceiling, and a white, glass floor. An occasional whisper echoed in through the portals, softened speech from the other worlds.
Nightshade looked around, impressed. "So this is what your Nexus looks like. It's nice. A lot more peaceful than mine."
"Yeah, it's kinda nice. Got a portal to Tartarus over there, Chaos place to the left, Equestria's left of that, then there's that Earth place a few down. I'm not okay with going in there without backup 'cause apparently it opens in some violent desert, and nopony wants to go with me, so I've never been."
Nightshade was intrigued by the idea of the violent desert, but reminded herself that she was trying not to put Raven in any real danger. She approached the chaos portal, and stared at it. "Hello, beautiful... we meet at last."
"Let's be quiet about it. The Folks have their home really close to the exit." Raven patted Nightshade on the shoulder and walked on through. On the other side was what looked like a tie-dye Everfree. All the wildlife took on whatever color of the rainbow it wanted, and the dirt beneath the grass was checkered. Certain fun creatures crawled along the woods, like hydra centipedes, which are what they sound like, and buff rodents. Two halves of a broken moon hung in a starless night sky. The magic in the air was different. Chaos magic felt slightly easier to use, while everything else would probably take more focus.
