Okay I was one my way to work last night and I saw a guy and a girl outside. The woman was walking away from the guy and he knocked something out of her hands then he shoved her. At this pointed I shouted that I was contacting security. The thought going though my mind is I wanted her to know help was on the way. Well as I was leaving the scene the guy come up and punches me in the face. I'm on the ground and he punches me some more. After he finish punching me I yell for help at the top of my lungs the lady tell me to run, but well my mind was more one my glasses than my own safety. I don't really have a spare pair and his blow knocked them off my face. While I'm looking for them I hear people behind me and I yell for them to call security. The guy starts coming at me again and I duck my head in between some rocks. He still hits me again, but only one more time. Finally this gets people to come out cause someone recognized me. The guy went into his home with the girl, and the people that came out helped me find my glasses. I went to security and called the cops from there.
I think you did the right thing, for what it's worth. It's like the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished.
I wouldn't call it "punished". There was a clear bad guy in this situation, he was just retaliating for Lion trying to help. Calling the cops was definitely the actions. putting yourself into a conflict like that is always such a gamble. It's hard to say what the actual right thing to do would of been.
Oh Jeebus. Well, it takes guts to just straight-up tell someone you're calling security. I just would've been more discreet about it, personally. You still did the right thing. In my book, the only people worse than spousal abusers are pedophiles.
