"Hm, when I was younger, I did a lot of studing on natural features." Retalius said, he walked up closer to a tree and used his magic to pull down a branch (Just realized this is acually the first time he ever uses magic in this), he looked at the leaves before letting it go, "Well, I don't know either, the leaves match nothing from what I've read."
They ran across the field to the forest south of there. This'd surely hinder their progress throughout the day... Once they reached the forest, Haze looked behind to see the guards searching the building. They were searching the rooms, when one looked out the window. "Duck" whispered Haze- but it was one of those loud whispers, y'know, the ones that do't really do ts job so well. Nonetheless, the group remained unseen. However, one of the guards found the exit, and signalled to the others to come outside. They were about to do a full-scale search of the area outside, by the looks of things. "Err, let's make our way West, quickly but quietly." They had to be quick about it, else they'd never make their target, and end up in the middle of nowhere over night. "IT's the lower tongue of the Everfree Forest, but not like what you'd have seen before. You'll have seen the East side. This is the southern part."
Ashes had took back his pony form when they had took cover near the forest. He whispered, "Great, now, we're followed by soldiers. What about we set up traps? It may stop them."
"No point in setting up traps," Fire said, "We're too deep in the forest. Anyway, we've got a few more minutes to recuperate before we gotta get moving again." Fire began to stretch out his hind legs, "Make it count."
"...Well...I guess we could... But we really must get going, if we don't get there soon enough, we wont have time to rest tonight... That wont be nice for anypony." Haze looked through the tangling trees to see the guards searching top to bottom out there, before starting towards the forest.
"Making a trap doesn't necessarily takes a lot of time." Ashes walked to a tree with a low branch, checked the flexibility. It was good enough. He pulled the branch to another tree, ad tied it agaisnt another flexible branch. "Here. If thery pass there, the vibration from the ground should free the two branches, slamming a guard right in the face. 'Spare a few seconds to gain a few minutes'."
Cobraheart who was flying high up above haze and firebreeze started falling his wings clamped together by some sort of metal band. He then crash landed just in front of them. "not to warn you but there's some pegasi guards in the air too. Fire time for you to test the katana I gave you earlier" Cobra managed to get on his feet but his wings were still clamped so he couldn't fly.
"Just... Knock them unconscious, we could have use for them, or their inventory." Haze pulled out a MK22 tranquiliser Gun. (Imma do this MGS style, yo.)
"haze theres about 4 of them. Maybe we could take their armour and pretend like were one of them. There's enough armour for me, you, Saul and firebreeze"
Ashes shook his head. "Nah... Save it for Retalius. I can morph in a small cloud of ashes, and float around. They won't even see me. And wait for my signal if you're about to attack them." Ashes morphed in a cloud, and floated slowly to the Pegasi soldiers.
"I think we pick them off inconspicuously, when the others aren't looking, or do it very quickly. We can't risk them alarming HQ although we get some nice Alert music when that happens."
The ashes cloud arrived near the guards. It pulsed, in a small signal. Some ashes started to gather in a knife shape.
"A knife? Is that the sign?" Haze spied one soldier in the corner, who didn't seem to be in the vision of the others. She shot a tranquillizer into his head. "Now... Use Fulton Recovery!" ((I'll stop this now.))
Firebreeze jumped from tree to tree and eventually ended up right above a guard. He quickly went down, grabbed the guard, and knocked him out with a head butt. Fire dropped the Unity soldier where he found him.
Cobraheart used his katana with the sheath still on and hit a guard on the back of the head grabbing the. Key to unlock the wing clamp and flew off back to the others. "one more left, then we can suit up"
Retalius was feeling useless watching the three ponies of the group who could fly took out the guards, but even then there was one left, I hope I don't miss, he thought as he came fully around the tree, knife in hoof. He threw the knife, sending it end over end towards the guard, before its hilt hit the guard right in the forehead, knocking him out. Retalius was taken aback by the shot, he was aiming for a wing to bring the guard down so that then he could do whatever to deal with him.
"Nice job, Retalius!" Haze flew over to the guard she had tranquillised, and whipped away his armour. Then, she hid him in the forest, so he wouldn't be found until the group were long gone. "I'm good" she said to the group, putting on the guards helmet and chest plate. "Everyone, you should get set, we've gotta go."
Retalius nodded and ran to the guard he had knocked out and put on his armor before hiding him, by hiding, he meant hanging high up in a tree, hogtied and hanging freely in the air. Retalius caght back up to the group, "This would also help us blend in if we are faced with insurmountable olds right?"
Firebreeze hid the knocked out guard in a tree and took his armor. He wasn't a fan of this Unity armor, it made his back itch. He walked back over to the group, "Alright, we should probably get moving."
"Cobra, pick up some armour. Everyone else, we haven't a single second more to spare, We've gotta go" Haze knew which way they were to go, Through the lower tongue of Everfree, and over some hillsides. Through the forest, she kept her eyes open for food, and fruits or berries, or anything that might be around... Seeing nothing she walked on, her eyes still peeled. "Any of you seeing anything?"
