"I know," he replied playfully, pointing up towards the ceiling where lines on tiny lightbulbs were placed. "These come on at night. They're amazing."
He gave her a smile before gesturing with his head. "Come on. Let's go practice your Magyck some more."
(Zoop!) A week had passed. During that time, Ben had spent most of his time teaching her various techniques with her magyck. By the end of the week, she was able to select books from the bookshelves and rifle through the pages with ease. She had advanced considerably. It was about one in the morning. She was unable to sleep.
She sat up, sighing slowly as sleeplessness plagued her. She got up, grabbing something to light her path as she started toward the plant room.
The lights were on just like Ben had promised. She would recognize his silhouette by the window as he looked out across the city, his shoulders hunched and his back to her. The lights gave a soft yellow glow against the night sky, and the air smelled clean and fresh.
