He kissed her temple hurriedly, looking down at her. "You got me! You actually got me! And it hurt! And you kept it up! And you refocused!"
She laughed a little, but seemed nervous. She reached up and rested her hand on his jaw, her thumb brushing the cut. "Are you sure it's okay?"
He rolled his eyes, raising one eyebrow as he looked down at her. "It'll heal within the day. You're amazing."
"Of course," he replied, tilting his head. His eyes seemed unable to leave her. "I'm so proud of you."
She grinned at him, her shoulders relaxing as she took his hands. "I'm really glad. We should go get the food before it burns."
He glanced over in surprise, clearly having had forgotten. “Oh! You’re right,” he said, returning to the pan.
Puck stirred a little, his jade eyes opening blearily as he squinted, forgetting where he was for a moment.
He kissed the top of her head, plating the breakfast distractedly. Puck watched them for a moment before sitting up, his brow knitted.
Cal looked over, lifting her head curiously. She was hesitant, but her shoulders relaxed. "..Good morning, Puck."
