She laughed slightly, looking over him. "Of course not. But this is more than I've ever experienced my entire life."
He considered this, looking down at the moving landscape. "Perhaps. But you also have experienced the stars now. You've experienced the rain. You've experienced the fresh air."
He laughed slightly, looking over at her with a raised eyebrow. "You've always had danger, Aasimar. You just have free will now."
Jude joined her. The train had slowed and they were now moving by a meadow, the green grass rippling in the breeze. "Try to roll when you jump," Eliza instructed. "Over your shoulder before turning into a ball. Ready?"
Sona looked rather panicked and pale at the prospect of doing it, now that the moment had come. She didn't say anything, seeming unable to get it out. Vaughn just nodded, waiting for the signal.
"Not now, obviously," he said, rolling his eyes. "When it's time. It might be hard to make yourself do it."
He shrugged, leaning out slightly to look up the track. "It's up to you," he said flatly. "But you'd get left behind if you couldn't bring yourself to jump off."
Eliza was leaning out of the train as well, watching as they turned the bend. "Here we go..." she said quietly. "Be careful. Good luck. 3..2...1!"
Vaughn went immediately, rolling onto the grass. Sona had hesitated, panicking as she realized she was the last one before finally jumping, nearly frozen in fear as she landed roughly and with lack of grace.
