(Seeing as Narrow decided to lose interest and hand the RP to me, I guess I'll start it.) It is the far but somewhat close future and humanity had reached out to the stars, colonizing many worlds and galaxies from Earth. With the expansion of humanity came the expansion of corporations. One of them, the Axius corporation, hid a large vault full of riches, weapons, and technology on Anesidora, a far-off backwater planet close to a dying star before losing everything in massive scandal involving bio-soldiers, zombies, and what-not. Now pirates, bounty hunters, rival corporations, and idiot with a gun and dream scour Anesidora, trying to find the mythical Starvault. A small freighter ship slowly descended down into the planet's atmosphere, carrying a small compliment of pirates on their greatest quest yet, the Vault. One of them Stella, finished focusing the lens on her recorder in the loading bay, turning it on and recording now. "Alright, this is Stella "Teller" Tagert again, date is... December 1st, 20...XX Earth time? I don't know, I've lost track of days while on this crew. Uh...We're descending down to Anesidora and should be there on the surface within the next 10 minutes... I might as well start introducing the crew again for this tape, just in case." She turned and faced to the door leading to the crew quarters. "Hey guys, introductions again!" She hollered. " You know the drill: Name, age, some backstory, etc. Let's go, we're touching down any moment now."
Charles remained quiet before deciding to speak up. "I'll get this over and done with. This is Phantom, yes...The Phantom of Devisoon . I've been in the game for almost 30 years now, and I have some advice to any new kid who decides that they want to make a name for themselves. *ahem* Don't what we do and give it up, you'll thank me when your older.
Kara was leaning against the wall, Energon industries magnum in one well manicured red nail varnished hand and a feint red glow in the other. "Names Kara Stewart, Queen of the slavers. All the colony wide kidnappings in the Artemis Tau cluster, that was me. Oh, to think I was once a weak little slave girl and now Slaver Queen and millionaire."
Augustus tinkered with the systems of the frigate. He turned on the intercom from the engine room. "Is it ok if I divert power to the engines?" He asked, while checking his holo-tool for galactic news.
Stella looked up at the intercom, pointing the camera up at it too. "I'd say yeah, if that's going to get on us the ground faster but hey, I'm not really the experienced merc or engineer here." She pointed that camera back at herself. "That's Augustus, he's kinda the crew's engineer. He's part of some traveling species, always in some environment suit... I think should be most of the crew..."
Tara ran her hand through her dog's fur. The hound looked up at her with trusting eyes, and she grinned back at him. "I suppose I must." she murmured, responding to his unspoken words. She raised a gloved hand in greeting. Tattoos trailed up her arm in a swirling art work onto her collar bone. "I'm Tara.." she said, quietly, but strongly. "I'm do not wish to talk of my feats, as you have all done enough of that for my taste. I am 21 years old. That's everything that you absolutely must know."
Stella kept the camera off her as she scowled. "That's it for now, I'll record more when we're planetside in a few..." As she shut off her recorder, she looked up at Tara. "Can I at least get some enthusiasm here? I mean crap, the others were at least nice enough to help with something for a back story... Never mind, we're touching down in a few moments." The ship final broke through the atmosphere roughly and quickly descended down into an arid looking valley surrounded by large cliffs with a trail leading out of the valley and around a few bends. "Alright, there should be a settlement or something up ahead." The loading bay door slowly dropped onto the ground and led out to the wasteland. "After you guys."
Charles went outside of the ship first, currently dressed in a completely black suit. Not wanting to equip his armour until later, the thing that caught the attention of many was the blade on his back. A monomolecular blade that was apparently sharpened to it's atom. Preferring bladed combat over long range rifles, Charles was aided in combat due to the black and almost unnatural appearing synthetic legs that Charles had for most of his life. (Going to assume the atmosphere is breathable)
Tara sighed, and looked down at the dog once more. "Enthusiasm." Tara said quietly. "My peers are slave keepers, and long time space pirates, and I'm the one lacking in enthusiasm." She stood up, and was second of the ship. The mutt brushed her calf as he loyally stayed by her side. "Stay close." she whispered to him.
Kara followed after Charles and Tara. She set her pistol to half cock and walked out. Examining the surrounding environment.
Charles walked across the enviroment, studying it and seeing nothing but an empty plain. He turned around to speak to the others, one thing only on his mind. "Where's the closet settlement?"
Stella waited a moment for Augustus before hurrying out with the rest of the group. She got out her recorder and started recording again, taking in the landscape. "It should be up ahead along this path about.. one and half kilometers..." Started down the trail, recording as much as she can. "We should be pretty safe along this." As she spoke, something scurried away from atop one of the cliffs. "Or not..."
Augustus walked off the frigate, before deploying it into a defensive position, with the turrets trained onto any unknown sentient life forms. "Heat signatures indicate there is a small village up ahead. Also, Solar Radiation from the star will fry electronics with lengthened exposure."
Charles grunted slightly once Augustus revealed the Intel about the radiation from the sun, which would have made his legs useless after several hours without concealment. To remove this problem, he simply put pants over his legs. "Great. I have to crawl across this damn planet once the sun frys my legs..."
"Thank you for repeating what I've said already on settlement situation..." Stella mumbled, putting her camera away. She continues forward a few steps before a large reptilian looking dog creature jumped down onto the path. A several more jumped off the surrounding cliffs and surrounded the group, hissing and and growling at the group. "Oh. ****." Stella brought up her laser SMG and let out a small burp of laser from it, impacting the creature in the front of the group and leaving burn marks across it's skin.
The dog leaped forward, eager to fight. Tara pulled a crossbow off of her back, and took aim. "Are you sure we should be attacking?" asked Tara, ready for the command.
Charles just looked at the creature with his arms folded, having no intention to dirty his blade over a single dog like creature. Only when he was threatened directly, would he be attack. At the moment, he just stared at the creature. It was to be an easy fight.
Stella looked back Tara, contemplating on attacking. "You know could be rig-" She was saying before being cut off by a hissing as one the creatures coiled back before leaping at the group. "Nope! Peace is out the window!" She let out another burst from her SMG falling backwards, trying to avoid sailing beast.
Tara's dog leaped at the beast, growling ferociously. With a slight grunt, Tara shot an arrow into one of the creatures back, and another in the thigh.
The creature Ella shot went soaring dead into the center of the group, landing and sliding with a went thud. Tara's creature fell in place with the arrows piercing deep. The few that remained tried to rush the group, running in circles around them before striking.
