I have one thing to say.

I hate people. My opinion is that that are a bunch of rude screaming idiots and i dont want anything to do with them.If aliens came here and asked why i was smarter than the other ones(Who are probably hiding behind a cardboard box holding a shotgun screaming "Com gt sum alens!"). i would say"Oh them?Im not one of them i just look like it..." . Keyword OPINION.

And you're trying to disprove that. When most of the time.Opinions cannot be disproved.

Maybe this should clear it up.

Yes I realize this, but opinions can be dissuaded, or at least diluted with facts.

(Maybe I should be a politician instead an architect:Trollestia: in all seriousness though, I probably have a higher IQ then most of those in Congress today, and I'm 15)

Your facts are also an opinion.

I've met people who say the world is a ball covered in idiots like me.And some that say its fine. While these can be proven. I dont think its possible for either sides to prove them.It would require an unbiased observer.

Plus. You're final statement proves my point. Well....part of it.Politicians are idiots.

(Lol, I'm thinking more a constitution change to keep with the times.)

Anyways, to get back on topic, no I do not think this generation is 'doomed' as the ones capable of doing things shall be the ones ruling us.

You know, I used to assume that I was smarter than the rest of the chaff as well. However, in recent years my opinion's been radically changed.

The reason being is the fact that everyone thinks this way.

If someone is smarter, they have some other traits that they must lack.
If someone is missing a few screws, they're probably good at some other things.

I don't think the overall drop in intelligence is due to the fact that the things around the kids as they grow up are outright horrible. I know a lot of people who have grown up in very religious communities and have come out full-blown atheist.

The movie Idiocracy states my thoughts on the matter quite well:
The reason for stupidity becoming more noticeable in recent years is because those who are in fact stupid don't understand that having too many kids may essentially be a bad things, while an intelligent couple may want to wait for the right time, which may never come.

I don't see how that proves anything, to be honest.
The general opinion of congress is relatively low, and some of them are truly horrible at their job, but there are indeed a lot who are good at what they do and a restricted by not just the people they work with, but the regulations they have to work within.

That also makes sense.I agree with you ,Zeph.

On the politician bit. When i say "Politician are idiots"I mean MOST are idiots.

If the regulations stop them from doing things properly than we need new regulations.

It is not necessarily true that intelligence is genetic, possibly part of it, but not the main, underlying cause. If so (For example) if Einstein had kids, they would be super geniuses like him, but that, in reality is just not true. And also, I know I have a higher IQ than most as 1: I have taken many an IQ test, 2: I absorb information like a sponge, all I really watch on television is informational shows and I read more non-fictional books than most would read in years and years. I'm sure there are others like me and smarter than me(Hell, I've met a couple), just not my average peer.

    You're like me.YAY!

Most kids watch shows that dont teach them ANYTHING!*cough*spongebob*cough*.

    Me?I watch the science channel.

Had an idea..maybe Autism(Which i do have)Is the next stage of human evolution.(I am Christian. But who says God didnt create evolution? A day in Gods perspective might be billions of years to us.)And the reason that we dont really function socially with normal people is because of our advanced mental state.

(Based off an Old scene from spongebob I watched as a kid when I watched cartoons, I only remember it due to a thread I saw on Reddit the other day)
Door Guard to the Smarty Saloon: How smart are you?
Me:I watched Morgan Freeman's Through the Wormhole and completely got it
    Body Guard: So?
Me: It was about how something could come from nothing
    Body Guard: Come on in.

    I myself am a counter-argument to that.

As a kid I goofed around and did the utmost stupid things. I've never watched intelligent TV (until recently), and always read simple books, or just none at all.
However, I scored very high on IQ tests my school would administer and on the ASVABS I scored a 91; a near perfect score.
For a piece of reference, the average score on the ASVAB is about a 40.

Like I've been saying, kids are a product of their upbringing

Wait that doesn't make any sense, I just said I hung around the utmost stupidest things available to a kid at that time.
According to your argument the environment around me should have had detrimental effects on my intelligence, yet it didn't.

Just because you hung around those things=/=total upbringing. And what about when you were older?

You don't seem to realize I still do those things :B

As for the rest of my upbringing, I was generally encouraged to teach myself things through practical exercise.
A simpler term for it is "Do it and find out"

    So many injuries.

Anyway, you're still ignoring that it was a vast portion of my upbringing. By your argument, it should have had some effect on the way I think now.

This current generation isn't picking up on values instilled into the previous generations, notably respect and independence. Granted, I'm an extremely codependent person by nature, it's a choice and I'm fully capable of independence.

Look at society today: No respect, no understanding, no humiliation, no capacity for being humble or empathetic. No one seeks wisdom like they used to; everyone just bites into the media and expects it to be correct.

Those who are lucky enough to recognize and take in the greater morals and understanding are the truly enlightened of the era. Everyone should seek wisdom.
