...Delete immediately before someone gets hurt! No? Ok... Anyway. Quick heads up for everyone: if you have any sort of virus infection or symptoms of a virus infection on your PC, or are paranoid like me read this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...-PC-WILL-kicked-internet-Monday.html?ITO=1490 That "Alureon" virus is going around again (maybe some of you remember it). It's been 'sleeping' in your PC for sometime now and will release upon every infected PC come Monday and will shutdown people's internet worldwide. People with present infections or past infections have a greater chance of having this 'sleeper virus' on their computers. But it's possible that anyone could have it. I would advise everyone here to view this site and choose the proper DNS url for your location: http://www.dcwg.org/detect/ If you're green, you don't have to do anything (just be careful with your browsing for the next few days). Update your security software, etc. What to do if you're infected: http://www.dcwg.org/fix/
You can still get trojans on a Mac, although you can't really get viruses as such. Anyway, I'm running Linux so I don't have too much to worry about for the same reason as Testy.
This again huh? I saw this exact same thing posted on a different forum a few months back. It really didn't seem like anything happened at all. Everyone who posted in the thread came up green anyways.
Just a precaution. Better to know you're green then wake up Monday morning to find you're DNS is changed and having to go through cleanup, and whining to your ISP to come fix it. :derpe:
i was paranoid about this... so i decided to open these sites under Avasts Sandbox mode. my computer screamed infectious site... well not infectious... just possibly malicious.
