She moved a little ahead of him, walking along the bottom of the water. She turned to look at him before her expression changed and she suddenly dropped off an edge, disappearing under the water with a small yelp of surprise.
She hadn't fallen too far; the drop off wasn't too steep, but it was sudden. He would see her moving up towards him slowly as she tried to reorient herself.
He said nothing, only frowning slightly as he let her reorient herself for a moment. "Are you okay, June?"
She rested her hands on his upper arms, looking over her shoulder at the dropoff. "...wow. That came out of nowhere."
She looked up at him and she gave him a small smile, cupping his jaw gently for a moment. "You're always looking out for me," she said quietly, dropping her hand and looking towards the shore.
He flushed, his eyes wide and curious. He shook his head after a moment though and went underwater. She would feel herself being lifted as he snuck under her and slipped her onto his shoulder, playfully pushing her out of the water.
She yelped in surprise, and he would feel her fingers in his hair as they rose out of the water. "Gods, Z!" she said breathlessly, leaning down to look at him, rubbing his head gently. "You can't just do that."
He gasped in surprise, falling back with her. Pulling away as he went to resurface, he squinted playfully, raising his eyebrows.
She was giggling like mad, swimming over to him and looking up at him less than a foot's distance between their faces. "I got you," she teased, tiling her head.
He pursed his lips before going under, quickly raising her up and throwing her into water again with a laugh.
