She looked up at him, surprise and confusion registering across her sweet face. There was a moment of silence before she squinted, trying to remember. “I... you went out into the storm,” she mused as images flashed across her head. “You picked me up. I was holding...” Her brow furrowed unconfortably as she attempted to recall it. “...sticks. Sticks. I had fallen, I fell into the water.” She looked up at him, her brow furrowed. “Is that all right?”
She noticed his frown and shifted nervously, trying to sit up. “I’m... I’m sorry,” she said uncertainly. “I didn’t mean for you to have to wake up.”
“I meant to go out and get the firewood and come back,” she said uneasily. “I was trying to be quiet before I left, but... I guess I got lost... I’m sorry you had to wake up for that.”
She blinked and her brows furrowed nervously as she managed to sit up, shrugging off his cloak and offering it to him. "I'm... I'm sorry about that as well..." She looked off for a moment before looking back up at him. "But you have a map now, Zerras. You don't need to rely on my..." She looked embarrassed. "My below-par visions."
His frown deepened as he watched her, offering the can of food that had been cooking. "What do you mean?"
“Well, like... you would be fine if I died out there,” she said, frowning at him nervously. “You have the map.” She paused and her face fell even more. “At this point, I’m just depleting resources.”
She looked up at him. Sensing that he may have been cross, she folded her arms protectively. “I’m sorry... we were out of wood... I had stayed up to try to keep the fire going, but...”
She seemed very upset, holding the can in her hands. “I just... I know demons don’t do well in the cold and I didn’t want you to get hypothermia...”
She looked up at him anxiously. She seemed tired and uncertain, holding the warm food, and her ears drooping nervously. She didn’t say anything for a moment. “You would’ve been cold...”
She hesitated, looking down quickly. “You said demons were susceptible to cold... I don’t think I would’ve died...”
"Yeah?" he asked, his eyes watching her harshly. "How were you going to get back to camp? When I found you, you weren't even standing."
