She was still frowning, but she rested her temple against his upper arm. “Thank you for saving me,” she said quietly, her voice soft. “I know that would’ve been frustrating.”
She closed her eyes and a small sigh escaped her, and he would be reminded of her struggled breaths the night before, soft and warm against his neck. “I don’t know what I would do without you right now...” she said sleepily.
She laughed a little, sounding tired. “Maybe,” she murmured before sitting up suddenly. “Oh, sorry. You don’t like touch.”
“Yeah,” she agreed, “but I hugged you that one time and you didn’t like it. And you don’t do touch the way elves do touch.” She shrugged, laughing a little. “I guess you’re just a bit of an enigma to me, Z.”
She looked up at him with a small smile before settling back, leaning her head against his arm. “Yeah. That’s better.”
She was quiet for a long moment before talking. “Thank you for taking care of me,” she said quietly, her eyes closed. “I know it’s be easier if you didn’t.”
Her eyes were closed, but she laughed a little at that, turning her face towards him. “That’s only because you were some for 200 years,” she replied quietly. “Don’t worry; you’ll get tired of me soon.”
