"You said that nobody uses that word," he said stubbornly.
"It's.. I don't know how to explain it. It's like how I usually feel but different."
He tilted his head before laughing. "Thank you. That's my true demon form."
He looked down at her in surprise. "What do you mean?"
He slipped an arm around her. "Still."
He walked along with her. "I'm sorry this trip is taking so long. I know you're probably eager to get home."
He nodded, taking his bag. "Ready."
They would wake the next morning bright and early, ready for a good start.
He pulled her to him, closing his eyes again and quickly falling asleep.
He turned, slipping his arms around her. "I love you."
He looked over at her warmly. "I think you did. Let's sleep, okay?"
"You helped me too," he said sleepily.
"I love you," he murmured sleepily, his voice soft
He closed his eyes, his whole body relaxing as she worked.
"Go ahead," he said warmly, resting his head on his arms.
He nodded, lying on the bedroll and stretching out on his stomach.
He frowned slightly, looking over at her. "It's still there."
He set out the bedroll, rolling his neck.
He laughed slightly but nodded, setting down his bag. "Alright."
