Blaze Shine felt uncomfortable with another stallions arm around him and saw the smile from the corner of his eye, "Thanks for the tip." He walked off, "Maybe I should try a new approach." Blaze said to himself. He walked around a bit and spotted the same mare from before, she was talking to the same set of mares from before, and he also noticed that the more they had talked, the closer they would get. 'Yep, nope, that ones off ma'h list.' Blaze thought to himself. He looked around more until he spotted a mare wearing a dress, the same one that ran out embarrassed. Her mane looked red and black, while her coat was white. He couldn't see the eyes though. Blaze had to man up, and so, he walked over to her. He was probably one of the tallest stallions, but not as tall as the yellow stallion that he punched. Blaze walked up to the mare, his heart racing, not knowing what to do, "Excuse me, Miss?"
Nightshade snorted in annoyance as the stallion, whom she recognized from the argument she had watched earlier, appeared out of nowhere and began talking to Jack. Not wanting to cause a scene, she simply walked away, heading back towards the punch bowl.
Shadow was heading back to the wall when he ran into Nightshade, while passing the punch bowl. ""While hello there, my names Shadow. Who could you be?" Said Shadow as he froze, He could feel that this pony was....something more......not normal....like somekind of being of power....He shook the thought from his head as he waited for a reply.
"Nightshade." Her answer was terse, but she was not overly concerned with making a good impression on this new pony. His muscle tone... the way he moved... She could tell in a single glance that he was a swordspony. In her eyes, there were very few ponies that were worthy to wield a blade, far fewer than actually did so. If he had any skill, she would undoubtedly have already heard of him. The fact that he was a stranger to her most likely meant that he was just another unskilled amateur. "If you would kindly step out of my path, I would like to get something to drink."
Moves aside. "Nightshad, isn't that the name of a skilled martial arts teacher?" Shadow said thinking. "Are you that teacher?" Shadow looked. Suprised by the fact he hadn't noticed before this pony was tough. You couldn't tell at first glance, but his muscles were tone and strong. "Wo....would you mind.....sparring with me?" Shadow had asked before he remembered where he was."N...nevermind" He said as he started to walk back to his seclusion.
Nightshade grinned, and turned back around to face the stallion. "Actually... that sounds fun. Let's do it!" Strolling to the center of the dance floor, she motioned for Shadow to join her. "Alright, kid... weapons, or hoof-to-hoof?"
"Well I am a swordspony, so wooden kitana's" Shadow said as he too made his way to the center of the dance floor. "I know what your thoughts on me as a swordspony are, and I plan to change them, here and now." Shadow said with a look of confadence in his eye.
"Wood katanas, hmm? Very well..." Nightshade walked over to the weapon rack that had suddenly appeared near the dance floor and grabbed a pair of practice swords. The other party guests, realizing what was going on, had moved back to give them space. "...let's dance!" With one swift motion, she tossed one of the swords to Shadow, and held the other in an aggressive fighting stance.
Catches it in my mouth. *yes, let's* Shadow said through holding the sword in his teeth. He ran at Nightshade and struck at his head, Nightshade ducked avioding the attack. "thought so" Shadow said as he used his tongue to spin the sword to were the blade was faceing backwards and pulled his head back comming inches from landing a strike. He spun the sword back into position and awaited the opponents move.
"Holding your weapon in your teeth... a very common mistake." Holding her sword with her hooves, Nightshade swung the wooden blade in a wickedly fast upward motion, into the bottom edge of Shadow's sword. If the stallion was lucky, the impact would break his sword. If he was unlucky, the sword would hold, and the force would instead be transferred to his teeth and jaw, likely breaking both. If he was really unlucky, the force of Nightshade's strike had been more than adequate to snap her opponent's neck.
"hmph, so expected" said Shadow as moments before the strike he realesed the sword from his mouth and dodged the sword. "You should really try to be unreadable, I saw that comming from miles away" Shadow said as he jumped up and caught the sword, then spun in mid air and struck at the grounded NIghtshade as Shadow fell from the jump. Right as the strike were to land he whiped his head adding more force.
Blaze was about to talk to the mare, but something held him back, "I'm sorry for waisting your time, please excuse me." He walked away, half angered and scared. He had never made any contact with the outside world, except for working at the Blacksmith, exercising, and shopping. Blaze was scared, scared of breaking a rule. His mother and father were dead, but it was a rule that had held him back for years now. He walked outside, and sat down beside the steps, thinking about what he did. 'Blaze, whats wrong? Did she scare you or what?' 'No, she didn't scare me, it was... something else.' 'I understand. But still, why not break the rule? Why live like your father? Just give me a reason why.' 'It... it's because I'm pathetic, useless, I weigh others down... like I did with my brothers. Living just isn't hard enough, so I just burn inside. I can't live like this any longer, but... but others would laugh at who I really am. The only thing that keeps me on the edge of sanity is my anger and sadness, I'm afraid that the mare I talk to is the one I will hurt. I've held myself responsible for my families death, I wasn't there to save them, I wasn't there to die with them, I was somewhere else.' '*Sigh* You've held this grudge against yourself for too long, its time to let go, Blaze Shine.' 'Then why can't I? I can't love, my father taught me to not believe in love-' 'And thats the reason your mother died, right? You have your fathers strength and size, you have your mothers heart and mind, but yet you don't use your mind, do you?' 'No, I don't' Blaze Shine sat on the side of the steps in front of the building with his head down, looking at the ground. He could feel a tear drop crawl down his check to his chin, and had let it drop to the ground. "Will I be alone? Yes, you will."
"You're an Earth Pony..." Nightshade's voice came from behind Shadow. She swung viciously at his legs, and then was gone. "...and you would attempt aerial combat against a Pegasus?!" She spoke from above him, hovering just under the ceiling. Aiming for Shadow's neck, she brought her blade down swiftly, and then was gone again. "I don't know if you're brave, or just not very bright." She was suddenly right in front of him, the dull tip of her wooden blade pressed against his throat. "Still, I suppose I should compliment you. There aren't many ponies that can dodge even one of my attacks."
"You say im foolish. You think you have me but your wrong." Said shadow is he backed up and struck at your neck. "If only you knew of my heritege and it's ability's." Commented Shadow as right before the strike hit he was on the other side striking in the opposing direction, then again striking from the air. "Notice I just swung at you three different ways in rapid succesion, and this is just a warm up." Said Sadow as he was now a few feet in front of you. He turned his head away and quickly snapped it forwad sending the sword spiraling inches past your head. He then appeared beside you, caught the sword and struck your neck before you could react. Your head was sent forward, but the match was far from over. "I know that won't end you, just a taste of me skill. A mere drop in a vast sea." Said Shadow as you recomposed yourself.
Nightshade frowned. Up until that point, she had gone easy on him. However, that last comment of his had touched a nerve. No matter how skilled Shadow seemed to think he was, he had never encountered a pony like Nightshade. The time had come to drive that point home. "You are overconfident." When he next swung his sword, Nightshade clapped the blade between her hooves and effortlessly wrenched it away from him. Her own blade had been thrown to the side, and she tossed his right next to it. "You are arrogant." Twirling around Shadow at speeds that only a Pegasus could manage, she began striking at various pressure points on his body, paralyzing his limbs. "You are..." Picking him up with a single hoof, she flung him across the room. As he crumpled against the wall, she grinned. "...Interesting. You may well be a worthy partner. I'll let you know when I decide." Shadow would be sore in the morning, but Nightshade had made sure not to do any real damage. She just hoped she had managed to convince him that his own power was nothing compared to hers. Dating stallions was much easier when they understood who the stronger partner was. "The paralysis will wear off in a minute or two. Just consider yourself lucky that we were only sparring." (I'm not entirely sure how strong Shadow is supposed to be, but there was absolutely no way he had a chance against Nightshade. The reason I use her for slice of life RPs has to do with the fact that she is the most ridiculously overpowered character in any RP on the site. Using her for PvP is, as you just found out, a bit one-sided.)
Blaze sat on the steps, looking up at the sky. He had lived for a while, 'So, have you decided?' 'Yeah, might as well sit here till its all over.' 'Hey, come on. You named me didn't you?' 'HeadHunter was it? Your my brain, why did I name you?' 'Well, I didn't come around till you were six. Come on, get up, this is not you. If this is the greatest challenge you faced so fa, then I'm sorry for. Look at what you did to those robbers from the store, you beat them with an inch of their life." Blaze got up, "You know what, screw it." He walked back in only to see a familiar pony on the ground in the middle of the room, "What the hay happened to him?" Blaze walked up to the pony (who was on the ground), looking down, "What happened to you? Some chick beat the tar outta you or what?" Blaze had a grin on his face, "If your going to have a sword fight with a mare, be prepared to get beaten down. If you didn't hold back, then I feel sorry for you. If you want to know how to control a blade in your hooves, then meet me monday 12:00 during store hours, its the busiest time of the hours plus its when I have to teach a few ponies swordsmanship." Blaze walked off, walking towards the punch bowl. He poured himself a glass of punch and drank it. Blaze focused his attention to that one ponies sparring partner, "So, I barely heard the fight from outside. I'm not surprised you won," Blaze said continuing to look at the pony who was down, "From what I heard, he needs to keep his guard up, plus, holding a wooden katana with the teeth wouldn't be smart either. When I fight, I pace myself, but I also fight to the rhythm of music. The names Blaze Shine."
(Shadow is Op too. When I first got on this site I made him based off of one of my favorite anime charecters with my own touches. When I tried to enter a survival op and showed a visual presentation of one of his assets, in the form of a demon that takes control if it feels the need to, I was told he was way to op for a survival or fight fic.) "Pressure points?" Said Shadow, voice was now raspy and distorted."That might have worked on him, might have, seeing as you were the one to do it I'd say he would be having trouble. That's why i'm here." Said this Thing inside of Shadow." It's time to show you MY power." As soon as the words left his muzzle Shadow had connected an uppercut sending Nightshade flying. He Appeared above her and connected a punch to her gut. For a brief instant she heard his normal voice. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen. You have to weaken him so I can regain control." Then she hit the floor. Shadow, or whatever had taken over was closing in on her. (Don't get made cause I did this please, I have hade other situations got me a lot of hare from other Rpers and i'm just having fun with the fight.)
"Oh for the love of... this is getting out of hoof!" Nightshade snarled, and grabbed Shadow by the throat. "I only wanted to dance! You're the one that took this too far! And now..." She sighed. "Now everypony is watching, and I won't be able to keep this a secret any longer." She spoke quietly, but her voice sounded painfully loud in her ears. "The fight ended as quickly as it had begun. The spirit inside Shadow retreated back where it belonged, and troubled them no longer. All that had been made wrong was once again put right. With everything calm again, the party-goers returned to their flirting like nothing had happened." The fight ended as quickly as it had begun. The spirit inside Shadow retreated back where it belonged, and troubled them no longer. All that had been made wrong was once again put right. With everything calm again, the party-goers returned to their flirting like nothing had happened. At least, most of them did. Nightshade knew that no power in the universe could affect free will. There were probably going to be some ponies that wanted to know what had just happened. She decided that it would be a good idea to leave. (Remember that this is a romance/slice of life RP. Flirtatious sparring is one thing, but don't go starting full-on battles.)
(Hey I get carried away. Sorry...I just like to have battles, but I like flirting and slice of lifes to) Shadow realized what had happend and followed Nightshade." I'm sorry, it's just when things get exciting I, I can't controll it." Shadow said as he followed the mare. "You are skilled indeed, if it wouldn't have taken over, you would still be in a fight though. I mean somepony like me obviously trains against weaknesses such as pressure points. It's acctualy very affective." Shadow looked at Nightshade intently."We should try that again sometime, minus all the siriousness. I may have went overboard, but I couldn't control it. You, however, could have been....a little less....aggressive. I mean I was having a fun warm up match then you go and pull....whatever the buck you did, then it took over, it really got out of hoof. By the way Nightshade, you mentioned something about me being a partner? What did you mean by that?"
The massive stallion sauntered into the town, trudging past the sign: Ponyville. It was one of those rare times for him, where he would set up shop in a place that seemed so foreign to him. He pulled his equally massive cart down the road. It had been a while since he had sold wood and meat to people in a town other than Pinesville. He had put up a board to seperate the cart, meat in the front, wood in the back. A friend of his had rented out a building for him in the town so that he could sell his goods. It was a bit long before he found the shop he would be selling from for the next few weeks. He unlocked it with the key that his friend had given him, and set down his cart at the side, and proceeded to place his wood in piles and stored his meat in the corner freezer. few hours later, he locked up his shop, and headed out to look for an in to stay the night, wandering around the town...
