Adaria sat at the table, reading through the large amount of diverse meals that she could select from. She has had a cheeseburger before, but it had been a very long time since she tried what she really found interesting. "Fish burger, please" Adaria replied. The Neko waitress smiled nicely back, knowing instantly what the young Neko girl would have wanted. "Certainly" before looking at Issac. "Do you wish to order, sir?"
"Ah, yes. I'll take some of the wings, thank you." Isaac hands the menu to the neko waitress. With a yawn, Isaac removes his gas mask respirator, revealing a face with mild radiation burns along the left side of it. Stubble grew along his chin and around his mouth, and his eyes darted about, looking at the bar without the darker filter of the mask lens to cover it. "Huh. How vivid."
"Cheeseburger and fries, ma'am. Thank you." Steve found himself distracted by the group of large, red eyed men that had just sat down at a nearby table. There was something strange about the way they were glaring at the human patrons, and he distinctly heard one of them say "Damned normals" in a strange accent. Steve's mind raced, trying to figure out if he recognized them from anywhere. Mutant supremacy groups were a growing problem in several city-states, and their members were known to commit violence against non-mutants. He really hoped that they hadn't come to cause trouble. (You're up, Bright Heart.)
The group discussed organising planes rides to Great Britain which for them was only a myth from pre-disaster books. The group continued chatting about the plans of an empire where normals (those who have not mutated and don't have significant abilities) are the slaves, maids and working girls of it and everyone else has citizenship with Hellwalkers being the ruling class. The representative then told them about Lucifer the grand leader of The United Midlands of Britain and his Fiancée Natasha who brought upon the idea of a hellwalker empire like the Commonwealth found in history books. The main person in charge agreed however they would need someone to fly the main mob family including himself over there while the rest catch the old and rusty city boats in the docks (Previously known as aircraft carriers). They then looked around the room for potential non-hellwalker allies before there food came. A platter of onion rings, chicken wings, ribs, garlic bread and something called rocky mountain oysters.
By the time Steve's meal arrived, he had learned quite a bit. The strange men were of a race called Hellwalkers, they came from the area that was once the United Kingdom, and they viewed normal humans as second-class citizens. They were definitely bad news. Still, they did need a plane, and his was the only one in the city. Any organization that had the resources to send their people to the other side of the planet would certainly be able to pay well, and Britain did sound like an interesting place to visit. Excusing himself from the table, he approached the group of Hellwalkers. "I hear that you're looking for a plane. I may be able to help you out."
"Hmmm, May I ask are you a normal or do you have powers. Now we will accept your offer if we find you worthy and by worthy we mean you are not one of the normals." The group waited as they observed Steve waiting for his powers. "If you do prove yourself worthy, your catgirlfriend can accompany you along with the metal man."
Steve responded by grabbing the Hellwalker's shoulder and giving him a painful jolt of electricity. "The name's Captain Steven Rogers, and I'm a Technomancer. If that's not good enough for you, I suggest looking for a plane elsewhere. I've heard that a man up in New Salem might have one." Steve barely managed to keep from laughing during his introduction. It was, all of it, total bullcrap. He'd never used the name Steven instead of Steve, he'd only ever been called Captain by one person, and 'Technomancer' was just a word that he'd made up because 'mutant' sounded boring. As for the airplane in New Salem, that was just a rumor that he'd heard almost five years earlier. He had taken an immediate dislike to the Hellwalkers and their haughty attitude. If not for the call of adventure in faraway Britain, Steve would have ignored the men completely. They may have needed his plane, but he certainly didn't need their arrogance.
The sole women in the group of hellwalkers then approached Steven. "Excuse these lot, The males of our kind are extremely arrogant and are much a fan of brute force and dominance over intellect, These lot are especially worse. Seeing as they grew up and lived here. Broken from the European and British culture surrounding our races since before devastation. They have never read or seen a book about our races history so are completely clueless about our true proper way of life.Serving and Living over our Lord Lucifer and his fiancee and then the family descendants once they pass away. My name is Pandora it is a pleasure to meet you and I'll make sure to keep these lot in check. Now about that Man in Salem, do you mind taking us there. you're friends can happily join us." Pandora's left hand was behind her back as she sent out a small shadow bolt in between the group of men's feet. Her voice was seductive, soothing and sensual.
(Just so you guys know, I am several miles from where Bright Heart is) The men were in the middle of a ruined city, nothing but ashes and destruction covered it. There was not a living soul to be in sight, and the next city was only seven miles away. Large cracks in the Earth were dark and deep. The city was covered in plants of all sorts, flowers and greens and trees grew out of the ground, and harmless reptilian creatures crawled about. There were still gecko's but they were the size of large tables, but they were completely harmless. The men walked through the city, all admiring the beauty of the day. They traveled,. and they would be going into the next city.
Isaac watched the exchange between Steve and the hellwalkers intently. It was, interesting, to say the least. He took note of the electrical disharge he had sent into one of them. Best not to get on Steve's bad side then, that could seriously fry his arm if he decided to use it on him. He watched as another stepped in, presumably another hellwalker. Pandora was her name. It breifly occurred to Isaac that eavesdropping wasn't exactly the most polite thing to do, and even in New America there were still mannerisms and such. As soon as the thought came, it dissappeared just as quick. He turned back to Adaria. "Friendly looking bunch, aren't they?"
The men sat in an old building, starting a fire. All seven sat around, setting the weapons to their sides, they would have their pistols at the ready. These people have known each other for years, and they planned of cleansing the world of the evil they knew, and those they didn't know. Each man had a skill, a weapon and a name, one of them known as The Wandering Blade. He was 21, living around the world, he would never circumvent a battle, never backing down. His real name was only kept by himself and his friends. They were at least 1 mile from the nearest city, the city that had people and working machinery. That was the place where their next bounty was, a person who was the stronger and faster brother of Pyrotech, The Cryotech. The men sat in silence, eating little dinner to make food last for later in the future. They received their bounty before they left that one village, and they would move on to their next.
Steve laughed. "The man in New Salem is just a rumor, and an old one at that. I'm simply trying to make your friends understand that they're not in a position to be choosy." Steve sighed, still questioning the Hellwalker's motives. Pandora, at least, seemed slightly more reasonable than the others. "I have room for eight on the plane, and some cargo. It will not be a comfortable ride. If you're interested, meet me by the docks in two hours. It was very nice to meet you, Miss Pandora." Walking away from the Hellwalkers, Steve returned to his lunch companions.
Adaria shrugged it off. "Friendliest bunch this side of America" she said quietly as her meal arrived. She thanked the waitress before taking a bite out of her fish burger. "England..." she thought to herself. "There might be plenty of these Hellwalkers here. Good idea not to anger them"
Steve nodded in agreement, and jokingly said, "So... feel like going to Britain? Those chaps were nice enough to invite you two along." Chuckling under his breath, he went back to his meal. He would certainly enjoy friendly company on the journey, but he didn't think for a second that they'd want travel to the other side of the planet with a person that they'd just met.
The men walked into the city, killing a few thugs along the way, a whopping 3 seconds. It wasn't hard, swords mastery, you just need to train right and you'll get there. Wandering Blade and his team walked down the streets, looking at shops, women who would throw their lives as *****s, the homeless reverting to cannibalism, and there were people who would beg for money, food, etc. Other than that, it was like any other city. People were acting like people, although add some form of insanity into it. "Alright," Blade said as he stooped in the town square, "You boys deserve a long break, contact me through Navi-Tool when you find an Inn, no one leaves this town. Be at the Inn you find cheapest and closest tot he square." "Wait, how come we can't choose one of the fancy hotels?" The big man asked, he was Yamito Kazkuke. "Well, for one, we can't stay in those. If we do, it would be a lot easier to die there. Two, we may have a lot of money, but its easier to waist it. Three, we need to lay low, not attract too much attention, for all we know the Murder Crew could be here, hell, they might be even be besties with Cryothech. As soon as you find the Inn, send me its coordinates, I'm gonna be gone for a while." The team nodded as they parted ways, the teams operator otherwise known as Rhoha Cotstuta, would locate the Inn. Wandering Blade walked around, seeing food shops. He saw a burger joint, something that could help satisfy his hunger.
Isaac ate his wings while he thought about the situation. "Britain, eh? Well, I certainly wouldn't mind. I've never been out of the country before, so this could be interesting." He gave a slight shrug and went back to eating. He knew a bit about Britain before everything had happened, and there was a fairly decent chance that most of it had changed since then. "You just, tell me when we're leaving and I'll be there." Isaac gave a short gesture with his hand that even he wasn't why he had done it, perhaps just to end the conversation.
"I'll be doing the same." Adaria said, not long after she had finished her burger. "I just need to get some supplies and I'll meet up with you again near the airport in two hours." The Neko then looked at the other Neko waitress and bowed in her direction as a sign of respect before leaving the cafe.
(If there is something wrong with this post please tell me.) Wandering Blade walked into some restaurant, "This place looks good." He sat in a chair behind some Neko and another guy, he didn't care much. It felt good to sit, it felt good to actually take a break from the outside world. He checked his katana's sheath to make sure there was no blood on it or anything else while he waited for someone to take his order.
( Crimson Lionheart - It's an amphibious plane, so it's at the docks, not the airport. A minor detail now, but it may or may not become important later.) Steve finished his burger and walked away to pay the bill. He was shocked that both of his lunch companions had decided to make such a journey on a moment's notice, but he was also quite pleased. Two extra passengers meant that the plane would be a little cramped, but he wasn't really concerned about the comfort of the Hellwalkers. With a parting wave to Isaac, he left the cafe and hailed a cab. He had a few things to do before leaving. An hour and a half later, he was sitting on the pontoon of his plane, waiting for everybody to arrive. According to the up-to-date map that he had bought, the distance to Britain was about 5200 miles. Flying nonstop, the trip would take almost an entire twenty-four hours.
Pandora walked up to Steve with four other hellwalkers. Luckily none of them were of the male variety. Instead the four hellwalkers were the wife of the mafia don and their 3 daughters. Pandora walked up to Steve with a smile on her face. "As a sign of gratitude for this flight. I give you this book as a thank you gift." The book was a book all about Nottingham ranging from the times of Robin Hood to the English civil war and Modern day. "I suggest you read it, otherwise you will not know anything about the Capital once we arrive there."
