Hey everypony, I'm a bit new to the site, so I thought that I would introduce myself with a favorite character discussion. Who is your favorite character, and why? Mine is Applejack, because, while she doesn't have very many character-developing episodes, she develops in her own way, mainly appearing as a side-character in others stories. I was a bit disappointed with 'The Last Round-Up', because I don't think she had a good reason to run away from EVERYPONY, because she didn't get first place...
Well, while I didn't like that Applejack did that, I don't blame her. I mean, it's justified well enough. She took pride in her skills, and everyone else obviously did as well. Applejack had high expectations going into the rodeo, and before she left she promised to bring back first-place ribbons and money. Applejack, being the honest pony she is, didn't want to face the others without at least the money she had told everyone she would return with. She's a hard-working pony--Applejack doing whatever she can to stay true to her word, even if it isn't the best possible course of action, seems reasonable to me. But anyway! My favorite character is Rainbow Dash. I know a lot of people are annoyed, etc., by her because of her arrogance and whatnot, but I like her personality. Granted, on episodes where she's constantly gloating I do roll my eyes and mentally plead for her to straighten up, but that only seems natural. After all, every pony has her ups and downs. Moreover, I love Dash's character design. The shapes (like those of her mane and tail) and colours match up oh so well with her attitude, in my opinion, and just helps to make her an overall interesting character.
Yeah, I can totally vouch for those reasons. It just didn't seem too in character for her, what with avoiding her friends, who obviously were only looking out for her, and the fact that, while she didn't BREAK a Pinkie Promise, She certainly twisted it on its head. But, I digress, otherwise it was a great episode.
Yeah, that's true. I guess her not confiding in even her friends is where her own stubbornness came into play. But yeah, while we're on the subject, Applejack's actually my second favorite character.
As for Rainbow Dash, I can understand those reasons. I think she can get a little full of herself (but, then again, they all have at one point, or another), and admittedly she does have an awesome design, as well as being responsible for several epic moments (Sonic Rainboom, and Rainbow Mushroom Cloud, anypony?). In short, Dash is awesome too.
Hm...I remember her helping with that, but I don't recall the cloud. To YouTube! But on that note, do you know somewhere online where I could find S2 E15+?
Welcome to Everypony! Enjoy you stay. Favorite pony is Twilight Sparkle because I'm a freak who actually takes school seriously and strives for good scores (crazy I know...). I treat my friends dearly and like helping out those in need.
