so yeah, we all know that Luna has changed her appearance since season 1. Laurent Faust gave her unofficial explanation on devianart, but I can't get away from fact that she looks different (I liked her appearance in season 1 better), so here's theory: in Luna Eclipse, we actually didn't see Luna during day. Since she's princess of the night, my theory is that when she's in power of night that he powers change and she has more magic power which also changes her appearance. During day, she loses her powers (or hands them over to Celestia), and her hair and tail gets back to way it was in season 1, and she becomes lighter. Does that apply to Celestia? my answer is no or that transit time is longer than hour or so, since we saw Celestia in Lesson Zero during night, and she looked same. Aether it takes some time till transform is complete, or this applies only to Luna.
I already posted this in another thread, but it's relevant... Just a thought I had after watching the show. Apparently it doesn't jive with Faust's explanation though. Eh, whateve, it's just a thought I had for why the new Luna looks like a cross between the younger looking Luna from s1 and Nightmare Moon.
I just though she got older and her magic started to return to her body. Simple and easy to understand, so I'm sticking with that.
It doesn't matter to me. I really prefer this Luna Better. Season 1 Was fine but Season 2 on Luna Was given a more Gothic Tone to her appearance and her Opening of her Appearance give her more Personality. I didn't want another Fluttershy-like Luna. She looked younger and smaller but it's been one year since her last appearance so maybe she grew up some more and being 1000 years gone, She still acts like it was back then this how it is now 1000 years later.
Heh, another thread I was thinking of making myself! Anyway, I like Luna's new design more than her S1E2 design. She looks more like Celestia now, while still remaining (until we see them both in the same scene) smaller, being the younger one.
Lauren basically said that she "just made that up" but "that's how she would explain it". She's not in charge anymore and I think that was her way of saying that anything she says (at least about Season Two) can't be considered Word of God anymore. That being said, it is a good explanation. And I think she or someone else said that Luna would have some "growing up to do", which could have foreshadowed her redesign.
I have a question about Celestia and Luna : (i think i'm exept subject) After the mane 6 have vainquished Nighmare Moon, Luna became again the night keeper or Celestia still take care of both night and day ?
Well, Celestia did say that Luna and her were meant to rule together, and I guess that includes Luna taking care of the night once again (once she had regained her powers which might have taken a while). It wasn't explicitely stated, but I think that that's the basic idea.
Ok, so i think like pixel hope (she finds back her power). But i noticed (I guess i'm not the only one) only Alicorn have shiny and wave-like mane (and tail) May-be because they are the princesses ?
