And what an appearance it was. Shame Twilight didn't give her a second chance initially. Overall, not bad. 6.5/10

I enjoyed the hell out of it!! I love the fact that even though Sparky is in a teaching position, she still has a lot to learn. Can't say I really blame her for her hesitation but the character development for both her and Trixie was pretty immense! I expected a lot more over the top presentation but the way it was executed was way more fitting! We saw Trixie's vulnerable side. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff! Anygoo, onward to the tidbits! Dashie's faces!! Sparky's forced grin!! Also, pretty awesome seeing Tia getting annoyed. Sadly, we may NEVER know how she gets her hair to do that!!

    Overall: 9/10

I love the episode a lot, it is so far my most favourite episode in the entire season!

Glimglam and Trixie are great togeather.

I just wonder....did Trixie attempt suicide? o_O I mean, she knew exactly that alone she couldn't do the Manticor trick and would die...

I really hope that this means we'll be seeing more of Trixie.

Also, Celestia seems to be getting really tired of Twilight's *squee!*.

    I did watch the episode.

    But I need some time.

I seriously don't know what happened. I really don't. This is literally the first time I've been in a situation where I have no idea what to do.

I'll be doing some serious contemplating. Hopefully I can post something tomorrow. But it may take longer. We'll see.

That's about all I can say.

    Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned that Twilight Sparkle knows how to hold a grudge. I also learned that Trixie can make anypony better when she is in an episode with them. It seems you learned first hand that you should never accept an invitation to one of Twilight's dinner parties. Please send her to the moon in a moment of unbridled annoyance, because apparently she thinks your time isn't important.

    All praise the sun,
    Dragonbait

I wasn't terribly fond of the episode itself, though it did have some good tearjerky moments at the end.

What made me happiest however is that the show gives Twilight a flaw, which is something we really haven't seen much of since she became an all powerful alicorn dictator princess. It gave very Lesson Zero'ish vibes and I could appreciate that. I want to see more episodes of Twilight failing at her job because she still has much to learn.

Also, I'm surprised Celestia lets so many ponies walk all over her like she does. I'm also surprised so many ponies have the audacity to do so. Usually she's super understanding but today she was having none of that crap.

This episode was pretty decent, I hope we get more Trixie this season. Don't want to be nitpicky, but Twilight was a bit of an idiot in this episode. She could've done better with handling Starlight's new friend. I think Celestia was probably suspicious of what was going on. Overall, I'd give it a 6.5/10.

Also, was Trixie attempting suicide? I know that sounds pretty dark for an innocent cartoon, though. :p

I do think she attempted it as she even said to glimglam she couldn't pull that trick off without being chopped into pieces. Also trixie seemed quite surprised to having survived that trick.

Ok, I loved the episode and how they showed Trixie after her last rampage in Ponyville, and how she tried to apologies everypony with a tour :p
Although I have two small issues within the episode. Which might seem minor but are quite important to the characters:

    1. In the scene with Rainbow Dash, she flies away for a moment with a Sonic "Boom". It wasn't her, character signature, RAINboom, but an ordinary Boom. How could the writers miss that?

    2. Have you guys noticed how Celestia was acting at the dinner? I have two theories for that. First, someone in the studio has to re-read character designs from previous seasons. She never acted so inappropriate on any party, or ever in fact. So that could be the case, or... My second theory, she reminds me a bit Cadence from "Canterlot Wedding" ep.1 ;) [IMG]
Tell me what you think about it :p Do you think she might be taking steps for her next evil scheme? ;]

    1. With the exception of her first time, the Sonic Rainboom seems to be something that Dash can control.
    Maybe she just wasn't trying?

    2. She's the ruler of what seems to be the most powerful country in their world, and Twilight was wasting her time.
    She was annoyed. That's all.

Yea, but you don't really see her annoyed with her subjects, not even *sight*-ing on them

Twilight's a princess now, remember? Not a subject, an equal.

Celestia doesn't really need to put on the "calm and dignified princess" act with another princess. She's free to act like a normal pony, and normal ponies get annoyed.
Honestly, I think showing Celestia in this light is great character development.

    Hi guys.

So... I'm finished contemplating things. I know it's only been a day, but, I was off from work this weekend so I was able to stay up until 3 a.m. watching Toonami stuff and, as I stated, I didn't do this half-way. I spent all of last night and some of today thinking about it.

I've made my decision. Whether people choose to accept it... will be entirely up to them. Because there are going to be those who refuse to hear what I have to say because of what I've previously done. Which is fine and I understand that. There are even those who will think this is some sort of ruse and that there won't be any change and I'll eventually go back to my 'old self.' Which is fine too.

I won't change their minds but I assure you this isn't a ruse. I wouldn't concoct something like this to fool people. That's not something I do.

Anyway since I don't know who will actually take the time to see what I've decided, I'll post it in spoilers as always. It will be entirely up to you whether you choose to read it or not. Here goes...

Let me get the negative stuff out of the way first. I'll end with the positive stuff. See? That's different isn't it? Anyway, I'm not going to completely change. Because I don't really see a reason to do that. There are some things when it comes to this that more than likely won't be changing. For example, my opinions on the Equestria Girls movies are unchanged and will remain so. Sorry? :dunno:

Also... I still can't bring myself to like how Starlight's redemption was done or even her motivation for everything she did. I'm sorry but I just can't. I still feel like both of those things weren't very well done at all and were bad/made no sense at all. (I'm legitimately trying to use nice words here. More shocks I know)

I can't really change who I am as a person because I don't really see a particular reason to do that. It's not something I can think I can do. So there are aspects of me that more than likely won't change.

    Now...

This episode effected me. A LOT. Why? The content. Giving second chances. Now at first... as I watched this episode I was kind of going 'lolnope.'

But as the episode progressed... and I saw Starlight's (yes I just used her name don't have a heart attack please) struggle and even Trixie's struggle to a degree. I was speechless. Quite literally actually.

    Second chances...

I don't tend to give these out. It's not something I normally do. Ever. Which is the truth as I'm sure you all have seen and know.

But I don't know... it's just everything that occurred in this episode. It was almost like Starlight and Trixie to a smaller degree were speaking directly to me specifically. Now obviously that isn't true but it's what I felt at the time.

I can't give second chances? That is true. Most of the time I can't. When someone does something wrong I tend to just immediately assume that they're a bad person and just continue on that assumption to the point where I just outright ignore them and don't even allow them to show me that they're not. Is this bad? Honestly... it probably is. But I'm not sure this is something I can change either.

Now... I still am unsure of Trixie. Because of what she did and flat out admitted where she used Starlight just to beat Twilight. But her struggle at the end got to me too.

What effected to me to the point where I didn't know what to do was this episode and this episode alone. I legitimately thought the show would never effect me this much again and I have once again been proven wrong.

    Second chances huh?

To me... my second chances are more like 'last chances.'

If they do anything else similar to what they originally did... then that means they are rotten to the core. For me anyway. Is this true? Again probably not but it's just the way I handle this. Whether you want to accept that or not is also your choice.

    Alright fine.

I can't believe I'm doing this. I really can't. But this episode effected me too much. It really did. This isn't a joke and I'm being 100% serious.

I will give Starlight Glimmer and Trixie a second chance. HOWEVER... they aren't my favorite characters and I don't think they ever will be. Keep in mind though that my 'second chances' are more like 'last chances.'

But a word of caution guys... I will be keeping an eye on them very closely. If they do anything else that's similar to what they did... then that proves they really are bad. To me anyway.

That's just my thinking on all of this and the decision I've made. Which is obviously final.

Whether you choose to accept my thoughts/my decision on this... is also entirely up to you.

    So there you go.

    No heart attacks. :derp:

P.S.: I LOVED the blabbing Big Mac part and the Slice is Life-like Vinyl Scratch, Cranky, and Derpy part. :derp:

    Decent episode

    Yours truly,

    Second-Chance-is-Last-Chance New (?) LostSanity

*goes to sulk in a corner over everything I've done*

Holy crap. Personal growth for the characters and one of our very own members.

    I'm impressed.

The manticore bowed at the end. He was in on it. She was never any in real danger.

Knowing Sparky, I have a feeling she invited Celestia to show off how well she was doing as a teacher. I love Sparky but she DOES have a tendency to brag a little. Of course, Trixie DOES have her beat in that department.
