Cal's eyes widened and she looked to Puck sharply, her tone deadly serious. "What is wrong with you?! I told you it would hurt him!"
“I thought you were joking!” Puck replied. “You’ve never even met a Fae before.” Ben stood up, frowning deeply. “I’m going on a walk,” he said softly, trying to fold up his wings and failing.
"I misunderstood," he said, raising his hands in surrender. "I didn't mean it." Ben was still frowning, but he shook his head. "It's fine," he replied. "I'll be back in a little bit." He turned to leave, starting to walk.
He brows furrowed as she placed the eggs on a plate. "You didn't believe me. Just try to believe me."
"I'm not really the one who could use a sincere apology," she said with a small frown, looking up at him.
