TF2 Server Information

Everypony Radio - TF2 Server

As we had an idea earlier today about expanding to Steam, I also decided to host a TF2 server that'll be online 24/7 and will be limited to listeners of EPR only.

Now, let me clarify a few things.

1. At the time of writing, the server has not been set up yet or tested.
All the information and 3GB of files have been downloaded successfully, and it will take no more than 30 minutes to set up and inform everypony.

2. There will be a cap of 24 people at one point, or at least for now.
As we find no need to use 32 people, we will have a limit of 24. In case this ever becomes a recurring problem, I will upgrade to 32.

3. The server will almost always be up.
I turn my PC off once a month, and that's at best when everything is fine. The server will run 24/7 and should not have any problems. In the rare case that this DOES happen, notify me. Although, it's quite likely that I would already know and inform you guys (occasionally) several hours, or even days, ahead of time.

4. My absense may cause the server to go down, but that may or may not happen.
I will get a person to try and keep the server running while I will be away from all my duties (and even a PC, so no composing, either) from August 14th (or 15th) to September 4th, 2011, in Ukraine, for a very rare vacation that tends to happen once every three or four years. I do not really know what a vacation is... or most holidays... or summer break.

5. The server will be F2P.
As in, free to play. In case you do want to donate, I will try and see if I can get a PayPal set up to cover the costs. Although, that shouldn't be a problem. EVER.

6. The server will keep trolls and haters out.
Password-protected, which can only be obtained by the invite-only Steam group that we have set up.

7. The same rules as on the radio apply here.
Try not to be racist, swear, micspam, because this is for fun. Report anything out of the ordinary to me. And, please, try not to ragequit.

9. The game mode has not yet been decided.
Most likely, capturing bases or intelligence. I'm not yet sure, I will look around in settings for that.

And I am aware that I missed numbers 8 and A through F. I'll use the 7 numbers left if necessary.

 

Actually, TF2 made me get Steam. Steam made me want to add friends, which in turn, I needed to buy a game. I bought World of Goo. Best $10USD I ever spent, but I'm not sure how many CAD is it.

 

It's not up yet, I've yet to set it up. I need sleep, too, y'know.

Anyway, I'll look at the config for it, see if I can rotate game types.

 

Bumpity bump. As I still don't have a computer that I can *squee!* around enough to actually host this, we're kind of screwed on the server atm. Luckily, I have all the files necessary to start said server, although the data needs to be updated with the latest TF2 update.
