Necrox nodded, his leaves rustling. He ran over two the newly deceased skunk girls. He stuffed them into his back on his bag and chuckled.
"Oh..." Stanford said, looking a away little and uncovering his face. "You don't intend on eating us if we die, do you?"
Necrox paused to think for a moment. "Unless you tell me not to, I won't." he finally said, grinning. "...Although you all look so tasty."
Stanford grimaced at the thought of being eaten. "I'd prefer it if you didn't for me. I got a nice plot of land picked where I liked to be buried, thank you."
''Eat me if you want, but i've got a feeling that Ashes and dust wouldn't taste well. I plan on getting killed by fire, or burnt before my last breath.'' The fire on his sword died quickly, and he sheated it. ''Else, I'd be breaking a promise. The one i'm looking for said made me promise to return to her in the wind, after i die. It's the least i can do. And if we find her dead, well... I'll have to burn her. But as i said, i'm sure my ashes will be the best spice to put on corpses.''
Necrox gave a low sigh. "Whatever, I guess... Either way, you three should follow me. It's important. Oh. And that includes you, missy." he said, leaping out a window to a nearby tower, barely landing safely.
Barry cracked his spine and stretched his wings, looking at the two others. ''I don't know for you guys, but when he says 'Important', i think of 'Imprudent'. Anyways, let's follow him. I wouldn't want to get on his bad side either.'' With that, he ran to the window and jumped, and dived to the ground, without unfolding his wings.
Standford shrugged and followed suite, sprinting out the window and barely making a flopping landing after Necrox. He quickly bounced back up and ducted himself off, pretending that it never happened.
Necrox ran off, then slid down the side of a building, using his claws to cling to the building. Once he reached the bottom, he held out his arms, then extended them into a platfrom.
Barry unfolded his wings, easilly flying over the tower with the momentum. He stopped at Necrox's height, holding himself on the bricks of the building, slowly flapping his wings to reduce his height.
Stanford waited for him to reach the bottom before grabbing on to one of his arms, sliding down fireman style and jumping off before colliding with Necrox.
Seeing he was floating about a few centimeters above the ground, Barry folded his wings and landed properly. ''No need to be so formal, Stan. You already know me, but we deserve a real introduction. Name's Barry Toleby, ironically called after Bartleby. I would understand if you wouldn't know such a useless part of the holly word.''
"Mine's Necrox. This is my butcher's shop. C'mon in." he said, smiling, he unlocked the door using his claw, then held the door for the ground, maintaining the platform with one arm.
Barry entered the shop, and went to layn on the desk. ''Didn't know you were a butcher, Necrox. I thought it was just a title you've been given or something.''
Stanford walked in after Barry, cringing at the smell. "I'd rather be smelling the hops and alcohol back the pub than this. You're not planning on butchering us, right?"
"No. I meant to bring you two here, as you are both capable to help me solve the murders that have been going on recently. Then, more of those damn cultists showed up." he said. "Either way, we kicked butt, and she showed up. Now, you wanna help me or not?"
