(You may fire when ready.) Nova looked at her mate nervously. "The other wagons should be arriving any minute. They weren't that far behind us. I'm still not sure this was such a good idea. Is this really the best place to be raising Silver?" Static nodded. "I share your concerns, but we agreed that this is our best option. A Kirin is not likely to be accepted into your society. Not yet, anyway. That is why we are here, is it not? Your leaders wish to prove that your races are not so different? Besides... Vulkendov is already strong. Growing up here will only make him stronger."
Dark Blitz pulled a rather large wagon, his little sister asleep in the back. He's been pulling day and night, no rest. In order to start a new life he must follow his leaders orders, as always. "Hey Dark" Blaze looked back, dark circles around his eyes, "Hey Dark Shine, you have a nice rest?" Shine yawned, "Yeah, but shouldn't you stop pulling? You're going to kill yourself just pulling this thing." "Well, its for the best, better than flying." "Are you afraid the others will… you know, make fun of your wings?" "No," Dark Blitz replied, "I highly doubt anypony'll be messing with us, look how big I am."
Armoured Steel walked alone with just a saddle bag on his back. Within it held enough food for a week (he assumed they would find food in the great forest), a dagger, a set of light leather armour, a map, and a photo of his father. It was quite a heavy load for the saddle bag but it held and he had no trouble carrying it. He thoughts were of his sickly father. He couldn't wait till he returned home to tell his father of his great adventures. Maybe then he would accept him.
Amber Fritter was inside of her cottage, busy preparing tonight's meal. She lived on a small farm, with a small house in the dead center of her property. Businesses would commonly purchase her supplies due to the reliability of Amber and due to exactly how good the products were. While never having attended active service in a day in her life, and that she would likely not be the fighting type, she helped feed the hungry mouths of those she needed most. Whatever left overs she had left after her supplies, she gave to the poor and homeless. Amber felt like it was the right thing to do, it was the least she could do and she felt good doing it. Of course, she needed to survive as well, so she did not give away absolutely everything. She was inside, busy in the kitchen. She felt like she belonged in the area, performing at her absolute best. She loved cooking in general, enjoying the tastes of other food while satisfying many.
"Others are approaching. Would you like me hang back while you greet them?" Static was used to staying out of sight while Nova did business in the villages. The presence of a Dragon, even a small one, in a pony settlement tended to cause unneeded trouble. Nova shook her head. "No, not this time. If we are to be neighbors, they'll have to get used to your presence." She called to the yearling colt playing in the field nearby. "Come along, Silver Crescent! There are new ponies to meet!" A few moments later, they spotted a Pegasus pulling a wagon up the trail, with a young filly resting on his back. Not far behind them was another Pegasus, who appeared to have brought little more than a saddlebag. Nova waved and called out to them. "Hello there! I'm glad you made it here safely!"
"Hm?" Dark Blitz was half asleep when some pony was talking to him, "Oh, my apologies, I haven't slept in some time. My name is Dark Blaze, the filly on my back is my sister Dark Shine, it's a pleasure to me ya'"
"I'm Nova, and this is my... husband... Static." The Dragon nodded politely, and said nothing. Nova gave him a curious glance, and continued. "The young colt over there... oh, for the love of Faust... PUT THAT DOWN!" Scowling, Silver dropped the mouse that he had just caught and returned to his mother's side. "Sorry about that. As I was saying, this is our son, Silver Crescent."
Armoured Steel approached the two pegasi, dragon, and um... what was that thing? He was really confused never seeing a creature like it before, looked to be half pony, half dragon. Then it dawned on him. "Greetings," called Armoured Steel from a distance he felt safe from the dragon and drony. Can't be too careful around dragons. (OOC:I'm going to be out most of the day I might be able to respond every once and awhile though.)
Nova pretended not to notice that the newcomer was keeping his distance, and pulled her cart out from behind some bushes. "It will be dark soon. I'm sure we're all tired, but we can't rest here for too long. It's dangerous to be near the forest at night." She pulled a map from the cart, and opened it on the ground for the others to see. "There's a small farm about two miles northwest of here. It's run by a mare called Amber Fritter. She should be expecting us."
"Eh?" Dark said in confusion, "Well, I guess it's not safe at night no." Dark Blitz looked at his sister who was still asleep, last week a group of bandits tried having their way with her, but thanks to Dark they won't be around for quite some time, "I'll go."
"You shouldn't of loaded the cart with planks of wood and stone. The cart was already heavy with your tool kit and planning table, plus we are going to the forest we could of just cut down those trees." Shielded Harmony was annoyed at her Fiancée's insistence on bringing some start up material for their house. Especially since it weighed them down and took them longer. Though Paragon Heart was undeterred by her moaning and simply said to her that it is better quality wood so will build them a better quality home. After about ten minutes they reached where the town would be, noticing a group of ponies gathering up some looking like they had children. "Looks like were not the only couple." They placed the cart next to the others and began to introduce themselves. "Hi my name's Paragon Heart and this is my Fiancée Shielded Harmony. I would say she was called Shielded Heart but there's still some tension between inter-species marrying."
Swipes trotted at a brisk pace, with an huge pack of assorted items. As she walked along, she checked things off on an clipboard being levitated by magic. "Water, Food, Maps, Pens, Compasses..." She went on with her list until she accidentally bumped into Dark Blaze. "Terribly sorry si-" She looked up, surprised by him being larger than the average pegasus. "Gah!" She fell back and dropped her pack.
"Huh?" Dark felt something run into him. He looked down seeing a mare who looked terrified, "You all right there? You look like you've seen a ghost." Dark carried his younger sister to the carriage and sat her inside then got back out. He was careful to approach the unicorn not wanting to scare her.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine, just not used to see Pegasi so big..." She stepped back up, and collected her things. "Anyway, I'm Swipes, one of the Pioneers joining you! I'm an merchant looking to explore new trade routes through the forest!"
Nova greeted the newest ponies with a smile. "If this little experiment goes the way the Council hopes, those prejudices will be a thing of the past." She quickly made introductions, and returned to studying her map. "There's a river nearby, and a small lake. We can rest at the farm for tonight, but we'll need..." "Nova." "...the Timber-Wolves shouldn't be a problem, they rarely venture..." "Nova." "...build a sawmill on the south bank..." "Nova!" Nova grinned sheepishly at Static, and put away the map. "Sorry. I'm getting ahead of myself. Like I said, it will be dark soon. We should probably start walking." Placing an indignant Silver in her cart, she stepped into the harness and began walking. Static nodded to the others, and ran ahead to make sure the path was safe.
Swipes walked on ahead. "So, this is the part where you guys are supposed to give your history, motivation, all that stuff.... No one? Really? Well, ok then!" She said cheerily, while marking their path on an map.
Dark Blitz grabbed the wood steaks connected to carry the wagon and began walking, "Well, what are we waiting for?"
Steel walked up to Dark. He noticed he was the only Pegasus that seemed alright. Steel was still cautious of the unicorns. "Yup, let's ride!"
