You've got 2 rational arguments and a sleep deprived one against you.I dont think anything you say will have a chance to change the facts.

I understand what you're saying, but one would think such a huge portion of my childhood would leave a bigger imprint than just a few habits and idiosyncrasies.
Even then, it leaves a very big question unanswered: where did the intelligence come from?

I think the youth of today is extremely lazy, mostly because of the internet. That's about all I have to say.

I'd agree, especially because i'm in the new generation, and i want to punch most of them in the face.

I am just lazy for Athletic things, i'm trying to do so many things on my laptop, i constantly feel like my head will expload...

The only thing I have noticed is an increase in the cynic population.

Guh, go to sleep for eight hours, and then interesting discussion with six pages. Loverly.

Okay, I can get what SnowM is saying. There's no need for you to pick on him by saying
like that. It's not just chance that kids who grow up in religious homes are typically more religious, or kids that grow up in the ghetto typically stay in the ghetto. What you're exposed to does have a big impact on your life. It's silly that we're arguing about that... Of course it has a huge impact on your life! Go watch the documentary Child of Rage, that'll show what an impact upbringing can have on a kid, even in the first couple years. Doesn't mean it 100% predetermines your life. It does have an impact, whether big or small.

I think the reason that youth today is the way it is is simply because it is tolerant. Let me explain. See, when you think of the typical family years ago, its pretty consistently intolerant innocence. They weren't in the middle of a big shift in culture. Right now we're being bombarded with technology which picks away at the innocence of it all. We know that there's life outside the family now, and we don't always have to do things the way our parents did. See, if you were to get pregnant as a teen in the 50's, you would be unbelievably in trouble and practically shunned. Now its just eh. It's because we tolerate more, which I feel is both a step forward and a step behind.

As for the music. Eh, its not my favorite, but kids like it because it makes them feel empowered. It seems like it's a lot easier to spoil our kids too. More stuff to spoil em with. But every generation makes mistakes. What I'm scared of is when they grow up and have kids of their own, which a lot are already doing.

I like this generation alot more than the one in the 90's.

I mean, they even had to make Peter Parker less nerdy in the new Spiderman movie to make him look like an outcast! X3

The picture of the 90's rebels, they seem to be punks. Punks have education, jobs and they do care.

    Examlpes:
-Greg Graffin is a college professor and the lead singer of Bad Religion
-Fat Mike owns Fat wreck chords. I think owning a record label is a job
-Bands like Anti flag, NOFX, Bad Religion, LOC, SFH and many more care.

I don't think that today's generation should get all the blame? The previous generation have created today's media which is corrupting kids and teenagers these days. I also place some of the blame on the parents.

They're not all to blame, but look at how everything is today. Fox news is a shining example of how humanity will spoonfeed the uninformed whatever they want because they're a popular name. Many would simply accept that rather than question it. If it's right, then you'd simply be learning alternative views.

Popular TV today has a lot of similarities between shows. Currently, reality TV (ugh...) and crime drama shows rule television. Why do we want to see the lives of celebrities? In the end, no matter how awful they are, they're making more money than us.

The music industry has suffered spectacularly in this era. Pop and rap music is painfully lacking in eloquence and execution. Deeper meaning is a concept beyond many musicians right now.

It's like much of society is following some kind of shallow legacy devoid of foresight. People aren't taught to explore other options, or find their own answers. They're given a single idea and pretty much told to roll with that. Otherwise, they will probably be ridiculed. School is basically centered around the popular opinion. Holding a different view that isn't liked may as well get you stoned (hit with rocks).

    Media, I'm disappoint.

I STILL have one problem with that movie: There is no way in hell that Peter Parker would be using Bing.
